I don't think they're keeping it a secret till launch to retain mystery as they call it, I have a feeling they're doing it to retain a ton of 'unequal options' and 'Bioware hates *insert relevant group here*' threads and basically feeling like they're upsetting people before launch as I'm almost positive that the remaining two LI's and the revelation of race gating is not going to make LI options seem fair.
A lot of people are pretty sure Viv will be an LI, but I'm pretty certain she won't be (you can see my previous posts as to why), and that only one will be bi. Or maybe it's another crazy theory, either way it won't be fair one way or another.
I think they're afraid the forums will burn with angry posts and other places are going to pick up on it and put people off the game.
DG last week posted quite a lot trying to explain about 'equality' and the reasoning behind LI's I think to soften the blow of some people who are going to feel like they have a lack of choices, but, well, the romance thread was pretty full of hard headed individuals that still didn't quite understand what he was saying.
All in all, it being kept secret till launch doesn't surprise me, even though it does sadden and frustrate me!
I'm gonna have to agree with you here, I think Vivi is out at this point and Varric/Solas are in.
Solas/Bi/all races (we've had a Bi elf in every game since DAO)
Varric/straight/racegated
With an existing member of the Li batch being the other race-gate. I'd put my money on Cullen, he expresses disdain for dwarves in DAO. Which would be okay in this scenario because Varric would make up for that spot since he'd be available to F!dwarves.
The NPC flirt option would probably be a lesbian female, I'll go with Celene. ( Bioware thought the flirt option was noteworthy enough to mention, so I'm guessing it'll be a little more fleshed out than previous flirt options in the other games. )
The reason why I say this is because of two things:
1.) David Gaider said all gender/sexualities will have equal representation in DAI but that may not meet an individuals definition of "fair." He also said that they've prioritized two romances for every/race/gender/sexuality combo & that's as far as their obligation takes them.
"In my opinion, "fair" is "I, as a player, am not treated as an afterthought. It is not "I get exactly the same number of choices as everyone else" or "I am being oppressed by not getting choices I personally want."
This particular combo of LI's would fit that bill quite nicely. Everyone's orientation gets equal representation, but lesbians will get Celene which won't be a full romance and people will likely not see as being fair.
2.) Vivienne not being an option would leave straight men with the same number of options they've had since DAO. This is relevent because of what David Gaider said at the GaymerX panel:
"But if you are going to look at the total number of romances, like, I had two options in DAO and two options in DA2 and I still have two options in DAI, but there are other people getting options and you’re going to say, wait, why aren’t I getting all the options? Well that’s too f****** bad."
This lines up with what he was saying in the romance thread about equal options and seems to me he's preparing some group for heartbreak.
Let's take a look at this though, lesbians/gays only had one option in DAO and straight males/females had two.
In DA2 however, lesbians/gays/straight males had two and straight females had three options of LI. ( including DLC Sebastian, but for those of you who argue that he doesn't really count, just look at the remaining potential LI's in Inquisition. We have three men vs one woman, the odds of straight women being the ones left out is very unlikely. ) So, the only group that has had two romance options in BOTH games was straight males, therefore Gaider had to be talking about them. And so my conclusion is that Vivi won't be Bi like I previously thought...or likely available at all. Because I think she fits into that category of "ain't got time for your business" the Devs talked about.

This would be my guess. I'm actually shocked it has been as equal as it has so far. DG warned from the onset that it wouldn't be, he also mentioned they only felt obligated, regarding romances, to having 2 options per orientation. The latter has already been established. What remains must be the former.

Not gonna lie, I'm a little shocked at myself for digging on this being a possibility.

Well, Fem!dwarves is a given at this point if he ends up being an LI. Humans are out, if you take what he says in Merrills house seriously. And Qunari are unlikely since he doesn't seem to like them too much. But he never mentions anything about elves so we don't know his standing on that yet, which means it's definitely possible!

Hey guys, I was thinking of writing up a fanfic after Inquisition came out(and I beat it at least once) that starts all the way back from Origins. I'd have the Warden and the Champion and an Inquisitor but I was also going to add 2 OC's that would come in at different points. Anyway, since everyone here is awesome I was wondering if I could get your opinions on which Warden/Hawke I should do and also opinions on romances for my OC's? The actual lists will be under spoiler tags so it won't take up too much room.
I'll post the options/questions in a minute; I wanted to make sure it was okay first. :3
