Is it true we won't be finding out about romances until the game is released? How am I supposed to find out whether or not I can romance Varric without spoiling myself for other things!
Nah, we don't know one way or another.

I kind of doubt even the writers know at this point.

They dont. They never really did. Marketing is in charge of that stuff. Bioware's notoriously terrible, terrible marketing.

That somehow feels even worse...
I like Aimo's quote on the mater
- "Developer Diaries" that never appeared
- Planned Monthly Follower Friday that began and ended within one week
- Bombardment of info dump in escalating succession then silence, with reveals varying between plot-critical and random info.
- And practically revealing all LIs except the last two *knowing* very well how this would go down with an already romance-based factionized fanbase.
…I’m really perplexed trying to make sense of your strategy, DA:I Marketing Team.

I think someone already posted it here, but I couldn't find the quote. The marketing team is confusing me...

What? You don't like this gem of marketing prowess?
What? You don't like this a gem of marketing prowess?
Jesus Christ, is that what they showed in Europe?
i thought it was bad in the U.S.

It really is spectacularly stupid. How someone ever saw it and thought "Hey this is a brilliant idea, let's publish it for everyone to see" is a true mystery.
What? You don't like this gem of marketing prowess?
Dear god, I had forgotten about that...
Thank goodness I saw it after I played the game, because that would have put me off DAO entirely.

I genuinely thought this was a joke until I saw the EA/ BioWare logo, i can't believe anyone thought that was a good idea ![]()

So sorry to remind you! And me too, it's even worse than CD-project putting Triss on the cover of Playboy. At least that one kind of fits with how she's portrayed in the game, she's naked the first time you meet her!
Well, now I feel alienated by the gaming industry again.

See this is why i cant take Bioware seriously when they get all high and mighty about progressiveness and being inclusive.
Wish I had seen this before I played.

It might have been salvageable if they had been themed after the origins or classes or...something. But...they were connected to DA how?
Wish I had seen this before I played.
Oh god, I remember seeing that trailer and thinking, "This game must be the worst Garbage."
The only reason i picked it up at all was because my friend convinced me that it wasnt like the awful commercials.
As was i... and yes bioware marketing best in the world lawls. They never know what to show or how, they really need to put someone in the higher writing team threw marketing courses and then let them do the marketing for their games.
Also on a side note look at the cute Dwarf quisitor chibi! ![]()

Women actually do go around dressed like that in Witcher, at least it fits the environment of the game they were making. The people who are intrigued by marketing campaigns like that, will at least get their money's worth in Witcher. The people who are turned off by marketing campaigns like that might also be turned off by those aspects of Witcher so from the consumer stand point it was a win win.
Dragon Age at least tried for somewhat realistic portrayals of female armor in its game, and was overall about equal fanservice for all preferences, though such fanservice was used sparingly (Morrigan is an exception here). A marketing campaign like that could therefore have alienated certain parts of the audience that might have actually enjoyed the game, while attracting a crowd that would not get what it was looking for from the game. Loose loose for everyone in this scenario.
What? You don't like this gem of marketing prowess?
Who the hell was that aimed at? People who don't know how to use the internet for porn? Very glad I got into DA from a relative lending me the game if I had seen some of this marketing I'd be out the door never to look at Bioware agian.

I have no idea. I can't really take it seriously though, it's so stupid it's kind of funny. But if I had seen it before I got into the series, or without any previous knowledge of Bioware's work, then I would have been very reluctant to try DAO out.
