Naw, I think of it more like a leveraction crossbow. just unlimited ammo because well you know its a game.

It wouldn't they'd just comment on it and watch the video a few times but they wouldn't buy it, course they prefer strategy games so DA wouldn't appeal to them anyway so I guess that doesn't count^^;
I dunno...
There are certain things that I've purchased/almost purchased because they offered content that was titillating to me, even though said content was not at the core of their experience <.<
... so I guess that sort of marketing will work for some people, because it was worked for me (ashamed I as I am to say it <.<)

Speaking of the objectification of women, how do you all think Bianca works anyway?
Theres obviously some magic involved, or at least lyrium and enchantment.
It's quite simple, she just follows the rule of cool!

Well im not even talking about his ammunition. You can actually see he has a quiver of crossbow bolts strapped to his belt.
Im more talking about the repeating aspect. A crossbow has a draw of 100 or so pounds. Thats hard to do with a crank, let alone a lever. And Bianca has two strings that meat in the middle. She probably would have a draw of 200 pounds.

What? You don't like this gem of marketing prowess?
Oh for...sighs...luckily this is the first time I've saw this or I never would have picked up DAO and missed out on a fantastic game series.
I don't know if most men likes this type of advertising but the few guy friends, I hang about would have been turn off by overkill as one is fine but six is too much.

Notice all the pullies that would help with the draw, it would make it closer to a compound crossbow.
So it loads the ammo, and sets the string in one fluid motion.

Well you have to appreciate the irony of someone picking up origins due to this video, only to find out that the closest you get to this in game are the hilariously awkward sex scenes.

That's one super powered crossbow, no idea how it would work though.

Maybe its just me and the people I know but most of the people I know would have thought that was a soft core porn game if it was the only ad for DA that we saw^^; I don't by a lot of stuff but I have looked into things for similar reasons just never purchased since rather not have that conservationist with my grandmother ![]()

A compound bow still have a very heavy draw, its just once you get past a certain point, the pullies take over.
I feel like Bianca has a cache of bolts it loads from, and a lyrium spring of some sort that will coil and uncoil as necessary to fire and reload.

Ok this may be cruel, but just the thought of that made me laugh, and I liked the awkward scenes, it made them quirky and sometimes funny.

ofcorse I was just making a similar show, but the pullies and possibly gears and springs at also assist in the draw and loading. I am just going by what I see, I sort of doubt there is lirum or magic involved as I think it was made with smarts and good old fantasy style engineering ![]()

Yeah, Bianca didn't strike me as much of an enchanter, it seems far more likely that Bianca is a mechanical wonder.
Also a theory, Jarvis (that's his name right, the guy who supposedly built Bianca in Legacy?) was given a false blueprint of Bianca and told to build it. Either Bianca hadn't had the materials necessary to make the final project, or she was still working out a final kink. Either way Jarvis built Bianca, and Varric, who knew the actual design but didn't have the skills to make the whole thing, simply corrected the "flaw" he'd put into Jarvis's design (that's why none of his subsequent models worked). That makes both Jarvis and Bianca responsible for creating/building Bianca.

I kind of like thinking of stuff like that. Also, with force like that, forget punching through armor, Bianca could probably punch through a brick wall.

Dwarven engineering is fantastic, sure, but they arent opposed to enchanting. The best dwarven smiths will always enchant.

Lirum is still dangerous stuff I still get the feeling it was a purely mechanical spalution not discounting that it could be magical but I just prefer my idea yours could be vary well correct.

Yeah, Varric's been hauling around a mini siege weapon all this time, which given most of the creatures he'll have to take down means 'Bianca' comes in handy.

More marketing shananigans also emmisaries and some dark spawn can talk that are not of the architect level of smarts.

Lyrium is only dangerous when its raw and unrefined. Or ingested. Most all of the high level equipment in dragon age is enchanted with lyrium.

That's cool, but this was pretty much my reaction to the scene
I wouldn't change them though. They're part of the games charm. And they may be silly, but at least they're harmless and entertaining!
