Well.
Personally i still believe that they wont make things uneven. I honestly cant imagine a scenario where the final romance option isnt Viviene.
Sorry everyone. Looks like Bioware blew it. Again.

Indifference is being "uppity"?
Having the ability i suppose by it self wouldn't be a negative, But it wouldn't be absence of that be a positive either.
The indifference certainly can come off as mean, especially when anyone can see that the thread is experiencing a small panic. Please be mindful of other people's feelings. Thanks
But its to add 'depth' and 'story' like....like um....uh......I"ll get back to you on that one
(sorry still feeling a bit full of vinegar I guess. Race gates still bug me but maybe MAYBE they'll be pulled off well)
It's really hard for something like that to not just come off as racism. It's some mighty thin ice to tread on.

A skilled author can probably make it so, but apparently I'm not skilled enough to think of anything beyond "because racism."
I did mention on an earlier post that we don't know how the races see one another. The qunari may see elves and dwarves as neotonous, and the dwarves may see qunari as disgustingly huge. We don't know.
Thing is, I find incongruous relationships to be more fun. It's why I want Cullen for Saarabas.
It'd almost be worth Cullen being gated against qunari. Almost.
If Cullen is gated against anyone, it should be mages.
Seriously, for all his childish crush in Origins, he is a complete anti-mage in DA2.
Well.

You may be right, we'll just have to wait and see! I just hope that they'll confirm it sooner rather than later.
Hey guys, I just wanted to mention that we beat the Dorian thread too..
Waiting for people like you to waltz into the thread and rain on everyone's parade. I really don't care if you think Varric will be an LI or not, that's your opinion. Nothing more. If we choose to believe he still has a chance, that's our choice. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm moving on to other things. I'd like to end this civilly.
Mmm, Raining on Parades? I responded in admittedly a brusque manner but given the conversation topic i'd be a fool to not expect hostility from an honest opinion. Beyond that? How i respond, What i respond to, and how i feel on things is my personal decision. Choices, Beliefs and all that nice stuff that comes from cognitive sentience and awarensss.
Conversely how others view is their view of it nothing more not to indicate i view opinions other then my own, inferior but to be honest, i understand my own views better then other people's.
Well.

If anything I think EA would have blown it. Gaider has talked about the "entitled male gamer" and how they feel like they are being neglected when they aren't and still get the same number of romances as they ever did. I would like to think that this represents the view of Bioware and thus EA (whom I'm assuming is the power that be) would have messed this one up. IF they did. But maybe we'll be surprised.
Well.

Well, I could see him having found a balance between the two in DA:I. He did rebel against the Knight-Commander.

But...but...Saarabas...
I seem to recall he's more sympathetic if the warden was an Amell, female in particular.

Not really my fault or concern, I respond with honesty and it results me more or less getting jumped at from four different directions, So i'd point your own advice back at you. I more or less, do a small joking post, i respond to a response to it and it results in this. So i'd repeat your own advice back at you.
Not every one has my strong manfeelings, people could get emotionally distraught ![]()

Thats how i see it as well. (another reason I'm glad the romance thread closed I got very tired of having to defend my own damn opinion on that matter) I'm sure the writers can come up with something clever but the idea rubs me the wrong way

Neither am I since I can't think of anything other than 'horrible trauma that should affect a lot more than just a romance' or 'racism'
True we don't the way I still kind of see it is if they are willing to follow my command without problem and get along with me and like me but just tell me I'm the 'wrong' race than I'm going to get fitty theres no way around that. Course I also don't count 'preferences' as a reason especially a story one but that is just me.

When it became clear she was unfit for command, He never questioned what the order was, nor why it existed though.
I'd point out, this should be in the Cullen thread as well.

Ah, I see. Thanks for your opinion. I will now start ignoring you like you are ignoring people's feelings, and I suggest to everyone that they do the same. Still hoping you'll have a good day.

Maybe they'll surprise us and "gating" means "Not walled off completely, it just takes more effort to get them to see past your race."
All this traveling in close quarters, shedding blood together, supporting, protecting, and healing one another...and they can't see past my horns, height, or capacity for facial hair?
Oh well. Looks like its time for me to consider Solas and Vivienne as the last two LIs, at least until informed otherwise. There's still a possibilty, of course, that Solas and Varric will be the last two and there will only be three female LIs. Since Bioware announced the race-gaiting, I thought there was a possibility that only male LIs would be race-gaited so to make up for that there'd be more male LIs, but I think the chances are pretty slim and I'd much rather be happily surprised than disappointed at this point.
Still, really excited to meet Varric again.
I can't wait to see what they've done with his arc this time. I do hope we'll help him deal with his feelings about Bianca in some way, though, either by bringing him together with her or him moving on. Not moving on after over 10 years of not seeing someone is really not healthy, and I just want Varric to be happy. ![]()

Gating is a final sounding word though. But it was adopted by the fan base does anyone know what the devs called it exactly? That might help easy or worsen my fears.
They can see it just not enough to date you cause gray skin and horns are icky and have cooties and stuff.
DG has already said things won't be even. Besides, race gating kinda turns two (or three when IB was race gated) in to equalling one romance because not everyone will find they are an LI on their playthrough. DG has also said along the lines that everyone will have a choice of LI from two, like always, but a couple will get extra.
I dont think he's taking about "gay, straight, male, female". I think he's talking about "Male homosexual dwarf." Female lesbian qunari mage". Playthroughs that have much more variables.

Im pretty sure an actual quote from DA2 is, "Mages are not people, and shouldn't be treated as such. They are dangerous things."
Im pretty sure he mostly will refer to mages as an "it". when talking about them.
Maybe Solas will return in DA4 and be LI.
