Did he do this for a game other than Inquisition?

I think it's already fair enough since everyone gets at least two options. Personally, I already like the same number of confirmed LIs I liked in the previous games (3) and might end up liking even more of them and I consider it all a bonus. But I also understand those who are set on someone or don't like their current options being upset.

At this point I consider myself lucky and so therefore I keep 99.9% of my vocalization on hopes for the remaining romance (Varric) in here. I know straight and gay players don't have the variation I do so I try to respect that, but I am glad that we already know everyone has at least 2 options as of now.

I know, I know... it's kind of not my thing at all, either... but it having Varric in the equation does admittedly make me still like the thought, considering every other theory has pretty much abandoned him completely.

I can understand that. I had my heart set on a human rouge for Varric, but I'll play whatever I need to to romance him, I don't mind changing my plans.

I'd like to think that the group I'm traveling with would learn to look past my height and capacity to grow horns or facial hair.  And one of the first things I'm going to do when they announce who the gates are is come up with a character romance them, and a character that can't, and then have both exhaust all dialog options just so I can figure out what they mean by "story reasons."

At this point I think it would have been easier to make 7 of 8 companions and 2 of 3 advisers romancable, and gated against nothing.

Yeah. Ever since I heard about the race gates, I just assumed it meant some characters would be gated from one or two races. It wasn't until I saw posts here that I even considered the possibility of a character being available to only one race, much less on top of being straight or gay.

Well, I kinda assumed, lets say for example Cullen is gated against only dwarves, so they make Varric available to everything but Qunari or something, this shores up the lack of 2 male choices for female dwarves but gives a few extra races a few extra options (hence all the talk of some races/genders might have more options but everyone gets at least 2). Add to the fact that IB used to be race gated it makes even more sense to make the last 2 LI options both males.

 

This is pure speculation on my part of course but this is why I figure we still have a shot at least.

@Moirin: Ha, no, I got it. Yeah, the racegating is where all speculation gets complicated. I could see it strengthening the case for the last 2 LIs being guys but it really depends on who's gated.

I don't understand why people say Varric is "certain" to be gated for only female dwarves.  Varric lies.  As for Vivienne, as the remaining female, taking the remaining spot, that would would make me as happy as Solas being confirmed, but haven't they stated, several times, that they're not trying to be "fair" and aren't some just as put-off by all the female companions and adivisers being LI?

 

Wait, was Solas confirmed? By the devs, or just by his VA? I don't think what the VA says actually counts as being confirmed. Not until the devs confirm it.

Haha, I think his chances are pretty good but until Bioware confirms it, I'm not holding my breath. Sorry if you don't like that but it's just the way I feel and I'm not changing it. If you think his VA hinting at at Solas's LI status is as good as a confirmation than great, I'm not personally convinced though.

I'm also waiting for an official dev confirmation before I plan him in my runs. It's too vague for me.
