HNNNNNNNNNNG

That's glorious and has been immediately reblogged. *___*

Cure to the Dark Spawn Taint? Varric's chest hair.

Yes we all want one for an entry to the weekly prompt.  B)

Siiigh I might actually be pretty decent for the job. In terms body type at least. I'm fat but most of the weight is in my upper back rather than my belly. Gives me a very Dwarven appearance/gait :P Perfect for someone trying to "capture Varric's form" through dance :P

I might come to regret making such a suggestion, though if it's inspired anyone else, please dear god do it before I get any ideas :P

Also: Hugs a Jewlie and offers her a backrub.

I want a Varric informercial because this would clearly be it.

Hey, guys! Wanted to share this before I go see Guardians of the Galaxy!

http://fuckyeahvarri...are-confirmed-i

Varric giving nicknames confirmed by Allegra Clark! :)

This depresses me.  :crying:

Why does having nicknames confirmed depress you? I figured it'd be a happy occasion?

Because Scribbles was confirmed to not be Josephine's nickname.

Because after using Scribbles so long and it being so popular, having it not in the game will do two things to me:

1) Not like the ingame nickname since I wouldn't feel it's associated to her as well.

2) Every time it is used, it will feel like it is a personal slap in the face.

I'll admit I'm kinda sad it won't be scribbles, either. I grew fond of that nickname. I have faith in Varric's nicknaming abilities though, and I'm sure with how Josie seems like an adorable sweetheart he'll love her and give her a really cute one.

Oh I see... it's about the Scribbles bit, not the nickname confirmation, that makes more sense. Yeah I'm gonna be missing Scribbles too :(

I hope it eventually becomes a DLC nickname. Like how Hawke is only Chuckles/Killer/Waffles in the MoTA Dlc.

I am sure the writers know what they're doing, plus, it would probably be very inconvenient to change the pre-prepared scripts and possibly already recorded dialogue just over a fan nickname.

The only time I know that they took in a fan name was years before the creation of Dragon Age, the name "Thedas" stands for "The Dragon Age Setting".

But otherwise, I don't see them pandering to a few upset fans over such a tiny detail.

It's like the legions of straight fanboys who want Sera to be bi, no one is going to change her orientation anytime soon.

Agreed. The writers know the characters better than the fans (at least at this point). They're the ones who'll decide the most suitable nicknames.

Scribbles came from the idea that Josephine was a "scribe girl", I believe. She's an adviser, not a scribe, so for all we know "scribbles" doesn't work.

It will still feel insulting though since any inclusion in a DLC will be it getting turned down.

Well, the devs loved it too. And really, comparing it to those who want to make Sera straight? Screw you.  <_<

Well, the devs loved it too and so did more than "just a few upset fans". And really, comparing it to those who want to make Sera straight? Screw you.  <_<

Please behave in a civilized manner and refrain from insulting your fellow posters.

It's just a nickname, not the end of the world.

Yup, and it has been discussed that "Scribbles" doesn't fit a "neat" type of person.

Also, some people say that Varric's chest hair jokes were from the thread when in reality it has always been a joke between the devs, especially since his concept was drawn with chest hair already.

Did they? Well then I may stand corrected. My only knowledge of the nickname was from the scribe theory.

We don't know what the nicknames are for the characters. For all we know Josephine may have an awesome nickname. You can't expect them to go back and change her nickname to Scribbles. I do like it though.

Frankly, I was trying to avoid confrontation, but this has gone too far.

Yes, I understand some people are upset over Scribbles not being a canon nickname, however, this is the Varric thread, we're trying to maintain positivity here yet certain persons want to carry over their dirty laundry and air it out here for some unknown reason.

I am sure that the Scribbles thread would be more willing to share much more similar feelings, so feel free to go back there instead.

It's like going into an Apples thread to discuss bad Oranges. It just doesn't seem like the correct place to do it.

I'm just happy that Varric will be giving the companions nicknames, end of story.

RIOT.

That's one of the many few things precious Vivienne could do to make me angry with her.
