Real shame though.  Would have been an awesome ending.  I imagine it would have been hard to flag that ending though, as you'd have to actually have some sort of romance plot to navigate with him.  And if they had that would constitute him mentioning it in his story, thus sort of defeating the purpose.

I remember when I first heard about this I was super bummed that it wasn't actually in the game. However as DAI has gotten closer to release I'm actually quite glad it wasn't. Romance options don't tend to come back as companions after all.

 

So no DA2 Varric romance has allowed us to have another adventure with our favorite dwarf.

If that line is true then I'm glad that it wasn't in the game to be honest, it would have felt cheap to have him be a romance without getting to experience the romance it also wouldn't have been fair to the players who didn't want any romance at all. So I am glad that route wasn't taken IF the ending line thing had any weight to its truth.

Ah yeah, I remember that one. If it's true it's a good sign that they were that tempted, but at the same time I'm glad they didn't go through with it because that gives us the chance for him in DAI. x3

I wouldn't have been happy with an off-camera romance anyway. At least they were thinking about it, that's a good sign.

Yep exactly. Gaider's quote about it being "tempting" and that line give me some hope. But I would have been disappointed at an off screen romance... and wonder how it would have even been initiated lol

I was under the impression it was automated and said regardless of Hawke's romantic pursuits or lack thereof, but it could have been like Mordin letting you down gently and triggered by a Forever Alone run.  I'm unaware of hypothesized gender factors.

Yeah I was thinking it was perhaps that... but that may have led to some people being like "wait, wtf?" I mean, I wouldn't have minded it, but others might have. XD Maybe that's why they nix'd it though.

Well there were a lot of complaints about her being lighter skinned then people thought she would be.  Just thought I'd help you finish your list.  Personally so far I like all the characters-though some of the Dorian/ Iron Bull shippers have made me a bit nervous about Iron Bull...

Ah, yeah. I remember seeing some people saying that. I guess I'm biased on that part, her tone reminds me of Isabela who I'm kinda in love with so I love it.

 

I feel ya. :'c I'll be jelly if Bull starts crushing on Dorian. Although I've gradually begun crushing on him myself so I guess it's only fair. We can crush on everyone together. Bioware, the longer you make me wait the more I'm starting to love everyone, is this your evil plan? pls stop, my heart hurts. You've made too many beautiful people for one game.

Well, there's a possible middle ground. I don't like some of the characters but I refrain from talking about them. And I hope I'll change my mind once the game arrives and end up liking almost everyone.

There's one character I'm on the fence about, but it's a personality clash problem more than anything, really. The problem is no matter how many different characters I make... when I play them I always see them as a part of me, so even if I'm trying to roleplay someone who loves 'character x', if I don't like them at all irl it doesn't really do anything for me. xD

Sounds like we're in a very similar boat then. Citalopram for me though. Ah...the joys of the side of effects.   I suppose nothing can squash my enthusiasm for a Varricmance.
