Saarabas Adaar.

Because I'm clever like that.

What's the reasoning behind an a instead of an e?

I find choosing names so hard. Also, I'm gonna have to see what's the background on the qunari Inquisitors before I even think about names for them, since we have so little info on the customs of qunari born outside the Qun.

Hmm I'm semi tempted to give in and make a human PC and name her after a character I really love in 'Fairie Wars' but the names in that book are so....hmmmm lackluster to put it nicely.

I make no effort to choose a name until I've crafted the character.

To clarify, I mean in the game's character creator.

Nothing, except I've apparently been misspelling it for months.

I use a Wacom tablet and Manga studio 5. I highly recommend it, it's really great. :)

I've heard good things about both, especially where MS5 is a tenth the price of, say, Photoshop.  Shame I can't really draw though... :(  which means I need to start trying, or find a book or something that can help me start out.  Or something, dammit.  So I can be good enough for DA4 fan art ;)

I come up with my inquisitors names on the top of my head and just think YES!

Wish I could be like that for names, I am terrible with coming up with names^^;

So far all I've got are Eirlys Cadash and Ailishe Lavellan for Quizzy names. I'm superstuck with Adaar. :S

I'm having so much trouble coming up with good qunari names.  It's all those a's in Adaar!  I feel I have to avoid any names that start or end in a, or have too many in between, otherwise the name ends up looking like AaaaAaaAAaaar and that's just ridiculous.

Ok I've decided, I'm going to save my 3000th post for a possible Varric announcement during Gamescom. If I time it just right I can celebrate 2 things at once ^_^.

I don't know about that I have Atiya as one of my qunari names and I don't think Atiya Adaar looks too odd together, but that's just me.

I never have before either, until now. They could totally change in the spur of the moment while I'm making them if I feel something different. Same with their personalities. :P I'm bad at sticking to things, but its fun to think up stuff for now.

Yeah. I just have a lot of of fun making elaborate plans, even though I know almost all of it might change when I actually get to play. Only thing I won't change my mind about is carrying on my tradition of being a male rogue for my first game. Elf now that the option is back.

I'm breaking my tradition... I've always been a female rogue first playthrough. Now I'm trying a mage.

To be honest, I probably won't enjoy the fighting as much... but I care more about the story which is why I'm curious. The fade is torn open and demons are pouring from the sky, what better time to be a mage so everyone gives me a hard time? 8D I have no clue why I'm so attracted to the idea that it might carry more drama lol.

I get what you mean. Because of the story, I ended up doing a lot of mages in DA2. Maybe it will happen again in DAI and I'm strongly leaning toward a female mage for my second game. No idea about the race though.

I think mage will be especially interesting this time because we finally have really different backgrounds for them: we can be a Circle mage, a Dalish mage and however the qunari apostate was trained.

I think a Dalish mage will be very interesting, because aren't all Dalish born with magical talent trained as keepers? I might be wrong and it may just be a chosen few.   It's weird because I thought elves were supposed to be the most magically inclined race, but we actually don't see a ton of elven mages.

Hmm, I'm not sure, but the wiki makes it sound like the clans have some mages aside from the Keeper and the First. It does seem like a lot less than among humans and city elves, though.

Well there are fewer Dalish than city elves and humans in general. I get the impression that only about 1-2% of humans and elves are mages, if there's at least two mages (a keeper and a first) for every Dalish clan of 100 (and that's truly overestimating the size of these clans based on what we've seen in the game) then you've got a magical birthrate of about 2%... so pretty on par if not better than that of human and city elves.

Aha! Thanks for explaining, that really helps and I've never been the best with numbers. :3

Unsurprisingly, a lot of people are voting for Leliana, Morrigan and Alistair in the Facebook version of the poll.

(frankly, any poll involving ANY existing LI will be won by an LI....)

Ah, but Morrigan and Alistair aren't in the choices. >.> I guess that doesn't mean you can't vote for them, though.

Although I adore Alistair, he had my warden's heart, not my Inquisitors. TAKE MY HEART, VARRIC
