Haha, I have sort of a bias with David Tennant gifs since he was my first Doctor! I love, love, love him and Matt smith. I want to get the entire series on DVD but I already have the 50th anniversary episode.

Do you think Bioware would ever write a copy of Hard in Hightown?

I know Gaider isn't Varric's writer, but he can really write the romance. I would read a romance novel by him any day.

It would be awesome if they did! I always wanted Bethesda to publish the books in the Elder Scrolls games but there's so many of them!  O__O  ^{it'll probably never happen but I can dream!}  So, I'd definitely buy Hard in Hightown if they ever decided to write it.

I end up having to skip several pages because I have certain persons (not naming names but it's kind of obvious who they are) on my ignore list but they are being quoted (BSN needs to fix that).

 

However, I had a quick glance and noticed that I am being accused of trolling and I am honestly very upset that you think so.

 

I have always hoped for the Varric thread to be a "safe place" to discuss Varric as a possible romance because everywhere else seems to feel otherwise, including Tumblr and even The Character Room.

 

But whenever we're having a great moment discussing Varric as a romance, you few people somehow feel the need to "visit" the thread and reminding us that you dislike the idea of a Varric romance with the typical reason of your choice.

 

It has grown to be frustrating because I find myself having to skip over many posts and conversations, as a result, I hardly get to read any new posts due to the fear of reading those comments.

 

Yes, I can always choose to read everything but it gets me into an argumentative mood. HECK, KNOWING those comments are in the thread and becoming the subject of discussion OVER AND OVER AND OVER again is just... ugh.

 

As sad as it is for me to say this, I think it's time for me to take an indefinite leave from the thread, as I no longer feel like I can be a part of it, especially with the kind of people who keep dropping by from time to time, which I am very sad to do so as Mrs Chestbeard and other members have only recently begun sharing wonderful Varricmance art.

Oh, so you were talking about him afterall...the person your referring to is Joe25 right? I think there may be a misunderstanding Kath. Okay, don't be mad at me but I'm going to try to mediate things here, I'm not trying to attack anyone. Please, just hear me out.

He really wasn't saying that he was against the inclusion of a Varric romance in-game, just that he wouldn't do it himself because he felt like it would be dating a married man. Which is perfectly plausible, we all have our hang-ups about romancing certain characters right? I for one would never romance a few DA characters for reasons their fans certainly wouldn't agree with.

He never tried to bash us for wanting to romance Varric though and he was very nice and respectful of our opinions. Which is all we're really asking for people to do. We let him know right off the bat that as long as he didn't try hating on us for wanting to romance Varric, he was more than welcome here. And he understood that quite clearly I think.

Also, he said he understood why you were angry after we explained that you weren't trolling and were just fed up with people who come into the thread to make us angry/sad about romancing Varric. They had similar experience in the Dorian thread after his sexuality was released, so he sympathized.
As much as we love Varric and want him to be an LI in DA3, we also have to accept that not all people feel that way and as long as they express those feelings in an appropriate way it's okay. This is the Varric thread for all of his fans and not just us Varricmancers. So, everyone should get to express their love for our favorite dwarf, in whatever form that may be, right? As much as I'd like to believe that everyone wants the chance to run their fingers through dat chest-hair, I know that's sadly not the case. Joe just happens to be one of those people, but I really do believe he didn't mean any ill-will with what he said and I'd hate to see you go because of it. We need you here so you can use that fire of yours to ward off the real trolls.

For one, I have told you I'm sorry for my backlash at your post.  I'm sorry for call you a troll. But, you can't just tell everyone who doesn't share you opinion to leave, and use a shut up gif, and not look like one. I am still an outsider in hear so I did not know how to read it. I'm sad to see you leave. I think it is childish to leave thread of full of nice people over this. I'm sad to see so many friendships hurt if you leave. Please don't leave.

I honestly think it was mostly just a miscommunication... I know sometimes we have naysayers here but it's not too frequently. :/
