My hunch is that one of the unannounced LIs will be a bi ungated male because Iron Bull was originally gated. But predicting the gates is really hard with so little info. I think Varric, Cassandra and Vivienne sound more likely to be gated.

I hope Varric isn't a gated LI. I can see him and Iron Bull being my when-in-doubt LIs.

Okay, we know from BaBR that all race/gender/sexuality combos have at least two options. We know Iron Bull was race-gated, and that his writing was done before Epler changed that. (They specifically said they had to "go back and remove" dialogue after he was done with the race-gate.) So it's a pretty safe bet that, from a balance perspective, Iron Bull was treated as if he was race-gated. So we've got at least one guy who's into women, and at least one guy who's into men. Possibly the same character. Nothing too surprising.
We know one of our known LIs is race-gated. So we still don't have a solid 2/2/2 split. If Cassandra or Sera are race-gated, Vivienne's definitely in just to cover the gap. If Cullen or Dorian are race-gated, that might not mean anything, since they could be balanced with Iron Bull and our mystery third.
Here's my speculation, though. I don't think Sera or Dorian are race-gated, because they're the first same-sex-only companions BioWare's had in a while, which is kind of a big deal. I don't think Cassandra's race-gated, since she was described as "secretly a romantic" in her character interview. (Which might not mean anything, but they hinted at Iron Bull being race-gated during his interview, so it's something to go on.) That leaves Cullen, which makes sense, since he's had unfavorable things to say about dwarves (DA:O) and qunari (DA2). The thing is, if Cullen is race-gated, and Iron Bull was race-gated, then that leaves both characters probably blocked from dwarves. That would leave straight female dwarves with zero options, which would mean the last two options are both men. You'd need to cover every eventuality Cullen and Iron Bull miss, so that would mean either one straight and one bisexual guy, or two bisexuals.
Judging from Solas' VA's comments, he's probably in right now. He's also probably not race-gated, like I mentioned earlier. And since the last character needs to be race-gated, and I don't think Blackwall is, that'd leave Varric as our second.

Not elves I hope because I have a male elf warrior planned for her T.T. She's the first DA character I feel like I /need/ to play a male to romance. Of course, thats the only way I CAN romance her, but my point is, I want to badly that I'll play male PC which I didn't do in DA:O or DA2 .

What's funny is I was planning on romancing Cullen with a qunari, so I'd have to change my plans if my own speculation turns out to be true. Ah well.

Everyone seems to think Solas if LI would be gated against dwarves.
I wouldn't mind this personally as I wouldn't romance him with a dwarf.
I would..and probably will romance IB with a dwarf...and well, pretty much anyone else but Cullen, Solas, and Vivienne (if they were LI)
For Cullen, when I eventually do his romance I will probably go with an elf rogue or maybe a mage just so I can have another mage play through to counter act my million warrior/rogues I have planned. Haha
Although I highly doubt it, maaaaybe Solas is raced gated against humans? I say this because we all know that elves and humans have a tarnished history and while Solas has no ties with the Dalish, I'm sure he's suffered at one up not or another from Theda's enslaving elves.
Again, I doubt it. Just a thought.
I definitely don't want to say it's impossible, but going from his interview, he apparently gets annoyed at people who see him first and foremost as an elf. It'd be pretty hypocritical if he refused to romance someone because of their race.
Someone did make the suggestion that he'd be race-gated against dwarves and maybe qunari, because he's a Fade nut and dwarves don't dream. But the characters are already aligned against dwarves pretty heavily, so I don't think it's likely.

I really don't think Solas would be gated. Otherwise they gave us the complete wrong impression with all the focus on him not being judgmental. And I really hope Sera is not gated against humans.
