Oh I'm sure you aren't the only one, I've seen many people saying they enjoy playing both genders. I honestly don't know why but I just really like playing females. x3 Probably because if I have the option to do so, I grab onto it since it's rare in most games besides RPG's where you can create your own character. 

 

I play both genders, and all sexualities, but it's pretty rare that I get to play a gay guy in a game like this, so that takes a high priority. Honestly, Varric being straight might be the only thing that gets me to play a female character first.

I enjoyed playing a Male Shep! But in Dragon Age Origins, I tried it and didn't like it.

 

In Origins it was because I didn't want to romance Morrigan (She's my sister/best friend character only) and I see Leliana as liking women more personally. As well as the fact as at the time, I didn't want to play a forever alone character that was male. I did it with my blood mage though.

 

As for DA2, I like being a female more because I love F!Hawke's voice.

Which is why I'm glad Cassandra's name is Cassandra instead of Cassie (even if someone trying to be funny does call me Cassandra thinking its cute :/) 

Cass I may be able to handle but if she gets called Cassie I don't think I'll be touching the romance just way to strange for me, though no where near as bad as a character sharing a name with a relative I already went through that in ME2 and ME3

On this forum I often feel like the only woman who likes playing male PCs.

 

I'm having a bit of a hard time getting excited about Cassandra because personality-wise it seems like she won't fit with most of my PCs. But I find her really attractive so I made her a possible spot.

 

I'm certain you're not the only person. I for one just like to play my female characters first then go through with a male. 

 

 

Oh, don't feel left out. Like I said, I have a lot of fun making plans but I only decided on my first one and playing the game will surely change my other ones and give me new ideas.

 

I don't feel left out... maybe just under prepared? Haha. I DO know that I want to romance Dorian eventually and the IB I just don't know what kind of people or even class they are.

I didn't like maleshep's voice acting (at least until ME3, I feel like it got way better by then) so that's one of my biggest reasons for never making one. On the other hand, my friend didn't like femshep's voice, so she made a maleshep. XD funny how it works, haha

I also imagine I'll never have to worry about a character having my name since it's so modern and unisex.  They seem to prefer giving the girls girly names and guys...guy-y names. But mostly because it really wouldn't fit in with the setting, I don't think.

I'm thinking I may do a male run first so I can get used to it since I'm fairly sure that's what threw me off of playing as a Male Shepard or Male Hawke often was I got too used to hearing the female voices all the time so the male voice was really jarring for me. I just hope that one of the male voices fits my qunari nicely though.

I didn't like M!Sheps voice actor but I have an unhealthy obsession with Yvonne Stravhoski Love Miranda and Jack so I did it solely for their romances haha.

I'd honestly never thought I'd hear my cousin's name in a game before since it wasn't a very common one but sure enough I get to Tali's loyalty mission and there's a Xen there, spelled differently but said the same way. I think Jack was the only reason I finally played as a Male Shepard well her and Tali and I got to say I'm glad I did now I'm used to the voice acting and can do more Male Shepard runs more easily I still prefer Female Shepard's voice though. Now if only I could make myself do some more Male Hawke runs so I can get used to his voice.

Thanks he's really proud of it, given his last name too you'd think it was made up which is what I think he loves about it

Makes me both happy and sad I wasn't named Xena or Kiri like what my dad wanted.

One of my younger  sisters got named by my dad...but she was supposed to be a boy named "Samuel"

 

Instead, when she was a girl they named her "Sammiel" XD It's pronounced "Sammy-L"

I played Male Hawke first and loved the voice. Then I made a female Hawke and had a hard time getting used to her voice.

I haven't picked anyone except for Cullen, Iron Bull, and Varric.  I know what imports I want to use, I just haven't decided who best fits them.  Saarebas is the only one who has a name right now.  Josephine doesn't interest me as much because I don't know as much about her.  Qunari? Sold.  Varric?  Sold.  Putting Cullen in another situation with mages, and qunari, too?  Sold.  Random Antivan ambassador?  Going to play a few times before I know what to do with her.  I'm going to romance her eventually, just don't know when.

Because I lost most of my playthroughs when my PS3 died last summer, I think I'm going to have to write down all the chooses I made/want to change and match which one I want up with my lady Cadash then have a few on the side for my future playthroughs
