But we still don't know her personally, and yes I've seen DoTS...let me clutch at all the straws damn you!

Well I haven't seen her and I'd like to hope that Bioware isn't assuming all of its fans buy the things outside of the games. So I still have some hope cause I don't know Cassandra and I don't count DA2 as knowing her since its brief cut scenes of her interrogating Varric and going by my limited TV/movie knowledge interrogators don't typically act like themselves while doing interrogations :P

So at some point last night there was a tweet about sharing things about dragon age you like with other people (implied to get them to buy/play the games)

All I could think of was making a poster of Varric's chest hair. Like... That would work, right? ;)

I can't think of a better way do promote the game :D

On a serious note, I hope this isn't a sign that they are worried about sales. Or are spooked by a low number of preorders. I see a lot of people who are interested in the game but won't preorder because they won't do it on principle or because they feel it's unnecessary. And many casuals want to wait for reviews before buying a game for $70.

I'm buying two copies. One for me, one for my younger brother.

Both preordered Deluxe additions . I would have gotten collector but I don't collect anything outside of my old comic books ,game systems, and magic cards (which I keep because of nostalgia).

I think this game will be amazing and am sure the sales will go well.

I'm not worried either (and have my deluxe edition preordered). But there are concerns about the hype train, no one want a repeat of what happened to games like Watchdogs and the backlash that they got for being over-hyped. Some are still angry about ME3 (time to move on), and some are just rabid haters who can't wrap their head around the fact that we may get multiple great and different RPGs in just a few months. Can't have both DAI and TW3 kicking ass now can we, that would be too much awesome.

I plan to fully enjoy the crap out of both of them. Oh, and I realize they are vastly different games that are awesome for different reasons... which some people on here can't seem to understand. :P

My ex was always on about how the Witcher is better than DA, didn't understand why I was excited for DAI etc when he was the one who got me into DA Origins. <_<

Why can't both games be good? >_>

Me too. Obviously I prefer DA, because it allows me to create my own character instead of forcing me to play as Geralt the white haired monsterslaying human straight guy. But that's just my opinion. TW2 had some great moments, and TW3 will feature Tywin Lannister as a it's big bad so I'm feeling the hype.

But as much as I liked Zoltan, he's got NOTHING on a certain Paragon of Manliness.

Because then there would be nothing to argue about. And we are all humans. Arguing is in our Nature.

as good as The Witcher games are, they are all pandering to straight dudes. Which is cool, I can still thoroughly enjoy those games and I own a lot of 'em. But this is why I like Dragon Age even more, I can be who I want. I have a friend who calls DA games "soap operas". I'm like, dude... you just can't appreciate role playing. Go back to your hack n' slash games. >.>

Honestly the only games I don't enjoy are first person military shooters. Mostly because fps-es make me dizzy but also I know a lot of them don't focus on story much. Oh and sports games. I don't like real-life sports, I'm not gonna play one on my console lol

Same here. The only FPSes I like are the Bioshock games, because I'm a nerd for survival horror. Otherwise, I've never understood Call of Duty... but I have played zombie mode on the ones that have it a few times, and stand alone it can be fun for a couple rounds....

You know what my opinion on FPS military shooters are?

It's all hype and edge appeal, nothing really ever changes, shooting germans, terrorists, blah blah, russians.

Normandy, Stalingrad, again and again and again.

That said i am reminded of "Soldat" a 2004 project from this company across the ocean, your standard world war two fare, except well you were fighting for the other side, something unique i guess if not anything ground breaking, flags and nationalities are just that.

Loved BioShock and I'm also slowly making my way through amnesia, because I'm both dizzy AND terrified haha

A lot of people thought I was making up the dizzy thing because I liked Mass Effect but it's over the shoulder so it's not nearly as disorienting. Really, story/good characters makes everything better

Oh I completely understand haha. being able to see at least part of your character really helps. Amnesia is a great game, but its best enjoyed slowly so it's all good. Sometimes I got so scared I just paused the game completely randomly and took like a 4 hour break. xP

I recently got through my problems with FPS, I used to be really disoriented and feel confused when I played it. But then I tried Borderlands, and it worked fine. I'm currently playing through Far Cry 3 (bought it on the Steam sale) and the only time when I don't like the FP view is when I'm climbing the radio towers. Platforming is so much easier when you see your entire character.

But I'm suspecting that most of my problems with the FP perspective was more due to me attempting to play on a console instead of a PC with keyboard/mouse. I'm so bad with a gamepad, it's kind of embarrassing.

I totally understand. I think the longest I played was like 4 hours before feeling like I was personally going insane haha.

I love me some old platformers like jak and daxter too. Good game to run around and enjoy

Nilfgaard is awesome.

And most awesome about it is it's Emperor, besides you don't need to be a dwarf to be a Paragon :P

For once i honestly wish the Witcher would let us do a 180 and actually join them, seriously Geralt worked for the Empire in the past but... apparently that is just going out the window.

Forgot about Borderlands, that game actually got me used to fast paced FPS action. I will make exceptions if the game is fun, lol.

As long as

are fine, I'm willing to throw my lot in with anyone. Every option sucks in that game, yes as a woman I sooo want to support (Trigger warning)
