Yeah I noticed that, I think I just caught the anxiety that's going around..

 

I know what you mean, I've caught a little bit of that as well. But I'm still holding to it that their silence is a good thing....They haven't denied anything and they know how much people want a Varric romance, so it could be that their just waiting to suprise us! We'll just have to wait and see I guess...._{or we could form a mob, storm Bioware headquarters and force them to tell us}

Most people are either stuck on the Bianca thing, or the friendship thing. I don't find them to be very convincing arguments, though. xP

Because he is a Dwarf and Bioware isn't exactly handing out Dwarf romances like candy.

True but honestly I just read them because I was scrolling down the article anyway.

 

It's like when people complain when someone switches off youtube comments. I don't get those people. There's literally nothing gained by having them unless your viewerbase is relatively small-medium sized. Once something is popular, it needs to be moderated or it goes to hell and back.

I just wish there were more people supportive over Varric. I mean, I don't want a Cullen romance really but I'm very supportive of it and am happy for the people who are happy.

I think the problem lies with the fact that we know there's only 3 spots left with 5 companions unchecked. The desire to have the LI people want in probably makes them a little hostile towards other suggestions. But I agree, there's no need to constantly do that - it's Bioware's decision in the end.

But the conclusion is basically this:

 

1. Iron Bull

2. Viviene

3. Solas/Varric

 

All of whom are probably bisexual, to keep things balanced with 2/4/2 spread anyway.  Blackwall strikes me as too much of a grizzled mentor figure to be an LI.  I'm more or less certain Iron Bull and Viviene are in, it's just Solas or Varric that give me pause.  I'm not convinced they'll have Varric move beyond his usual role of the hero's "bro", so I'm inclined to give Solas the greater likelihood.

This makes pretty good sense. On one hand, I see Viv as too into the political game to have time for a relationship, but on the other, it's hard to imagine all of them will be males and make the spread so uneven gender-wise. My mind agrees with you on that last part, but my heart wants Varric way more.

 

Nothing against Solas though, he's actually a very interesting character to me. If he gets the slot, I'll have to congratulate his fans.

I have difficulty imagining Varric with a man, but an easy time imagining Bioware making it so because popularity. But the devs say that's not how they do things.

^ And they weren't kidding, Cullen is a perfect example. Alot of people wanted him to be BI but he ended up straight...

And if they were serious it hurts Varric's chances. I take solas in the knowledge they seemed to regret not making him a DA2 romance. Hoping they'll make up for it here.

My only ever objection to Cullen was that for awhile it looked we'd be having another overabundance of warriors in on our team. But then they announced him as an adviser, and I was happy for the Cullenite

Aww, I am totally supportive of a Varric romance. I just really want Solas as well. Both would be heaven and I would gladly give up Iron Bull but I don't think that is going to happen. I agree that this is a likely combo which means I only get one of my favorites. 

 

In my perfect world (not going to happen, I know) It would be 

1. Iron Bull race gated

2. Solas available to all

3. Varric race gated

 

Yes that would be all male but the Varric/Iron Bull race gating would sort of cancel it out. Maybe? Ah well, at this point I'll settle for Varric or Solas rather than neither which would be a disappointment.
