My reason for thinking that Varric won't be a LI is because I think he's not bisexual (it would disrupt the even numbers they have atm if he isn't) and because I think they want to expand upon his relationship with Bianca.

He could be bisexual, a history of a certain perceived orientation does not equate what his orientation is. And I'm not sure if you ever saw my little think-out-loud post but I'm certain Bianca is dead.

Also guys, I got my hands on the DA comics this weekend and read them all. All great and they have a nice bit about Isabela that is very insightful. But I was very excited to read Varric's dream with Bianca in full. Again, it was so similar to the Fade dreams featured in The Calling, with multiple characters being put into a dream where the person or persons they loved most and had pasted away in their dreams, tempting them to stay. In the dream, Bianca says they should try to escape the guild and run off together to which Varric responds, 'We tried that. It didn't work.' He says that this a lie but Bianca says it's like a story and that Varric loves stories. Varric replies 'Not as much as I loved you.'

With all the past tense and Varric's absolute certainty that all of that was an illusion I am convinced Bianca died about 10 years ago before the events of DA2. I think that Varric's romance will definitely deal with Varric finally dealing with Bianca's passing and learning to love like that again. Regardless though, I want Varric's character arc to bring him to a happier state of being. I need my favorite dwarf to be happy.

Aw, they didn't ever offer any more interesting ones? Perhaps those kind are more common where I live... Americans like flavor, most Japanese cuisine is too bland for them (even though I really like the authentic stuff personally), so the Japanese restaurants here probably know that and give extra options, lol. 

 

I had a friend who lived in Osaka for awhile, where she learned to make rice balls and she came back and taught me, so I know they have those kinds there...maybe just harder to come by than the normal ones.

 

Well they could have, but i was there to do something and i only stopped to get the rice balls because a friend wanted some from the Vendor, but its unimportant really. I really was only there because of the Work, Oki has some good cities and a decent scene if its your type, but i prefer the more northern prefectures and islands.

 

I enjoyed Okinawa immensely, Although you really have to be careful going on the uninhabited islands, the Japanese army and navy mined a lot of them while they were retreating. Most of them are gone now, but you never know. But that was part of why i was there, you need people who can actually point out a mine that will blow your leg off or is just a corroded piece of eighty year old scrap now.

1) Who makes the first move and how?
Probably Varric. Adessa's more comfortable around her inventions and friends--not romance.  But if Adessa made the first mood..It would probably have been unintentional.
2) What's the others reactions?
A mix of 'Finally', Bets being won or loss, and Sera teasing her non stop would perhaps be most likely.

3) Varric wants to give your quizzy their favorite meal or a thoughtful gift... What is it and how would he give it to them?
Books and something she could use for her inventions. Varric would likely, albeit warily, cross into "her center" that she keeps as her space for doing her work and giving it to her. Adessa wouldn't realize Varric is there at first which might result in him simply leaving it there for her with a note . If she noticed him she would stop right away as no one usually ventures in when she's working and would probably be concerned about it before realizing it was something of kindness.

4) Does Varric and your quizzy make their relationship obvious right away or is it hush-hush at first?
It would probably be hush-hush for Adessa's comfort as she's not used to this sort of thing.

5) If it's on the down low; do they end up telling the group or do they find out on their own?
Once Adessa was more used to it, I think it'd just gradually be known due to more open affection.

6) If the "first move" didn't involve a kiss; how did their first kiss go?
Adessa driving herself crazy over the care of her soldiers and companions would probably lead to Varric trying to get her to relax and lead up to a kiss.

7) How do they behave together on and off the battlefield?
Adessa loves archery and that is her go to method of fighting. But if anyone of her companions are overwhelmed she will toss her bow to the floor for her daggers and rush in with no hesitation. This is one of the few moments where she's not calculated as her care for her soliders and companions would be over throwing her logic. This would worry Varric and he'd be watching her back.

Off the battle field they can talk for hours. Sometimes its Varric telling her stories where she will happily listen , and other times it's Adessa talking in her bright eyed and idealistic ways. They enjoy even silence together though both of them talk a lot , so that might be rare.

8) Would your quizzy flirt with someone else? Would Varric? How would they react?
Adessa wouldn't flirt. But, Varric might despite being loyal to Adessa. She might be wary about it at first but attempt to get used to it for she wouldn't want him to have to change for her .

9) Who's the first to say "I love you"? When/Where/How do they do it?
After a long time of stressing and probably being unintentionally neglectful to Varric, Adessa would just go up to him, hug him for a while and tell him she loved him and apologize for being MIA.

10) What's the most publicly romantic thing your quizzy initiates? (Whether it's all the time or only once)
A peck on the lips and that is pushing it for Adessa.

11) What's the most publicly romantic thing Varric initiates? (Whether it's all the time or only once)
Stealing innocent kisses maybe, knowing Adessa isn't really for PDA

12) If your quizzy and Varric get into an argument who is the first to usually apologize (even if they were in the right)?
Adessa will never apologize if she is right in the logical matter. If it's a matter of emotion, she will apologize.


13) Oh no! Quizzy got injured! Varric is the only one around to take care of them. How does your quizzy react to being a patient?
I think it depends on when and how she gets the injury. If it would be during her crafting and/or inventing. Varric would totally give her a "Again?" while amused and just help her out. On Battle Adessa wouldn't want to worry him and treat it like it was nothing.


14) Oh no! Again! Now Varric is injured and Quizzy has to play doctor; how would they go about it?
Theres no way Varric could convince her not to worry about his injuries...except she isn't the best at tending to them. She'd try though.

15) Something emotionally scarring happened; how would Quizzy and Varric comfort each other?
For once, silence would be preferred. She might try to avoid it and rush to her work to get lost in, but Varric would be there.


16) Is there a proposal in the future? Who pops the question and how?
Adessa isn't worried about marriage as she thinks it's unnecessary in showing how much you care about someone. I think Varric might appreciate that.

17) Let's say the world was saved and you are no longer bound to the Inquisition; what's you quizzy and Varric planning to do?
Travel and learn more about the world , while continuing to do good.

What nickname does Varric give your Inquisitor?

Freckles because of obvious reasons or maybe Sparks due to the way certain subjects just light up her eyes.

Yoko huh? Honshu is my favorite island of all, but i'll straight up i'd take Tokyo over Yoko, Mostly though because Tokyo is my favorite city on the planet...Its the first capital i ever saw as a kid outside of Oslo, And where i spent nearly a two and half years of my life.

 

It made an impression.

 

Though admittedly, my Japanese has gotten corroded over the years, but i can still read and write fairly well.

Honestly, if I wasn't adopted by Zainichi Koreans (If you don't know the phrase, it means they have Japanese nationality but are korean in ethnicity) I wouldn't know how to speak Japanese or read anymore. I lived in America far too long.

I can appreciate the Deep Roads more than the Fade, because I at least have company, but I totally know what you mean lol. I did always really enjoy wandering around Orzammar though for some reason.

Isn't that a little convenient? I have seen this same argument come up alot when it came to Cassandra's sexuality, but she turned out straight.

Neat, she hates mess. It doesn't need to be labeled but it is best to keep things orderly

Dorian will be an interesting man for her to get to know and she will enjoy searching for eye candy with him.

She'll get along well with Hawke, being that Hawke and Varric are bf5ever. As for the Warden, she'll stay neutral on until she proves herself

 She knows dwarves are best, she only feels bad that everyone else aren't dwarves. That's mostly a joke but she has nothing against anyone, provided they don't make short jokes.

Don't know just yet. Cassandra, Josephine, IB and Dorian all have a good chance at catching his fancy.

 One scar over his right eye. A Templar nearly captured him once. It was the first time Bayram killed someone.

I agree, I hate Carth Syndrome and do not want it again. But I think it's an opportunity for Bioware to write a story with a lost love without turning the wangst up to 11. A long lost love does not automatically turn into Carth Syndome. It's risky, I admit it. But done right, it could be very powerful

No, not quite. I honestly think he's ready to move on but he hasn't come to peace with it yet. He clearly is ready to date again, he even mentions going on dates with other women in the Legacy DLC, so it is not as if he will be some wounded deer waiting for my manic pixie lady dwarf to save him. I think that he might be holding on to the memory of Bianca, and of course being in the Fade and seeing her again would reopen old wounds.

My Cadash isn't there to save him but she'll help him through it if he needs to.

Eh, idk about convenient, but I do feel that it could happen. I'm bisexual and though I've only ever been with men I know I'm attracted to women and would be fine with dating them. It happens
