I always thought a bit of randomness would be fun, like whether Bethany or Carver survived being pure chance. Maybe whether Varric or Iron Bull are available is chance per playthrough.

I stick to my theory that Iron Bull and Varric are going to be the race-gated LIs. I thought so when I first heard about it and I thought it even stronger when we heard that there are two LIs that are race-gated. Hold the line, Varric fans.

I don't think it hurts his chances, it's like you said they regreted not doing it in DA:2. If they thought that then, I don't see why anything would change now. Unless, they've decided he'd have a better character arc without it...I just hope they have a better excuse for him if that's the case. This whole "pining for Bianca" thing can't be healthy for our favorite dwarf in the long run

Put me down as another poster who's actually pretty optimistic about a Varricmance. Figure Natashina shouldn't be the only one beating that drum. And I'm pretty sure he'll be bi, though I'd be the first to admit that's partly wishful thinking. Happy to discuss it! I know optimism can be kind of a precious commodity on this thread, and I'm at least trying to be logical about our chances. Trying being the operative word, but hey.

That's no problem, here! Many of us in here aren't big fans of that thread... we pop in every once in awhile out of curiosity, but this place is a solace of peacefulness and hope, unlike there. lol

 

Honestly, that place moves too fast for me anyway. I say something, and it gets lost in whatever debate is going on currently. Usually a wasted effort.

Just dropping by to show my support for a Varricmance. I'm pretty optimistic about his chances and nobody shall make me think otherwise! I'm also optimistic about Bull's chances, too. They shall BOTH be romanceable. So let it be!

 

Anyway, Varric's been one of my favourite characters since DA2 and I plan on bringing him alongside my Inquisitor for my first two playthroughs at least. Well, him, Bull and Cole. My Qunari Inquisitor will make them get along. HE WILL! Even if it means showering them with cookies, 'cos, hey, who doesn't like cookies? Coookiieeeeees.
