I don't think anyone's expecting any news today. Maybe the LI reveal is like going to Narnia. It won't happen if you expect it.

I think people are expecting more news during the next convention but I seriously doubt we'll get the LI news at those presentations. It will probably come out in a random place like the other ones.

there is supposed to be a big announcement end of august, 90% are thinking its multiplayer....  im still holding out for them to come out and say they trolled us and that the game actually hits stores sept 1st

its either that or they figured out time travel to allow us to travel into the future so we can buy the game tomorrow....  its a good marketing strategy, use our time machines to not have to wait 2.5 months for our game to release....  Brilliant

I don't know about multiplayer. Wouldn't they have made a big fuss of it, being the first time available in this series, and not waited a couple of months before the game's release to announce it?

Me neither. If it exists, I hope it's completely optional and not necessary even for achievements.

I find it useless in a game like this. An MMO or a specifically-designed multiplayer has potential. There's certainly enough going on in Thedas to do it, but on a main, numbered game it's s bit superfluous.

I was thinking they would announce the release of the Keep. The game is only 2.5 months away now, it would be a good time frame for the Keep to come out.

Woot back from vacation. I know you all thought you could get rid of me but I'm just too stubborn to quit. 

 

It's a bit late to the party but I did the latest Inquisitor meme. I love role-playing villainous characters so I'm using my power hungry mage, Aura Trevelyan. My more heroic Inquisitors are still a bit up in the air until the final two LI's are revealed and I'm still tweaking them. Aura is the only one set in stone.

White: detached, very cold and able to take on other colors as needed.

 

2) If they were an animal, which would they be?

A Margay, which is a pretty little jungle cat with a very clever way of hunting. Margay’s perfectly imitate the distress cries of their prey’s babies to lure their dinner in.

 

3) Which genre of music would best describe your Inquisitor?

Pop: infectious, manufactured and willing to reinvent itself as needed.

 

4) What season reflects their personality best?

Winter.

 

5) If your Inquisitor was a force of nature, what kind would they be?

A snowstorm.

 

6) What’s their alignment?

Neutral Evil

 

7) What element best describes them?

Fire, “if the fire burns inappropriately within a fire person, it often leads to impulsive actions, self-satisfaction and a desire for power, negativity and aggressiveness, pride in a negative way and a tendency towards being blinded by their own charisma.”

 

8) What scent would they be associated with, if any?

Aura smells of the highest quality Orlesian perfumes; ladylike, sweet and entirely unnatural.

 

9) Do they have a background story?

 

The favorite child of the noble Trevalyn family, Aura was spoiled rotten by her parents. Upon discovery of her magic, Aura’s parents refused to hand her to the Circle and kept her talent hidden through bribery and blackmail for several years. Aura’s life of luxury came to an abrupt and violent end during her thirteenth birthday party when a servant somehow fell into her cake. In a fit of rage Aura threw what can only be described as a magical temper tantrum. The ensuing carnage resulted in the death of three servants and the maiming of half a dozen guests. It took four templar’s to subdue the young apostate and only her family’s fortune kept her from being executed on the spot.

 

Stripped of her heiress status, Aura spent many years in the Circle where she slowly climbed the ranks.If she can’t claim her families fortune and title, she’ll make a new one for herself no matter what the cost, and being crowned Inquisitor seems like a good first step.

 

10)   Do they have any family?

Aura has an elder brother and younger brother. Her parents passed away a few year back and left the estate and fortune to her brothers.

 

11) Are they better with children, animals, or neither?

Dogs absolutely hate Aura. In regards to children, Aura finds they are often much easier to bribe than adults so she finds some of them useful.

 

12) What’s the Inquisitor’s favorite food?

Steamed clams, she finds it funny to have so many little dead creatures all in one bowl.

 

13) Can they cook?

Aura has made a point of never learning to cook. Cooking is strictly servants work and completely beneath someone of her standing.

 

14) Do they have any hobbies?

Aura is very well read. As she spent a good many years locked up in the circle she used fiction as a way to escape her imprisonment.

 

15) Are they very fashion-conscious or more practical?

She’s quite the fashionista and takes a great deal of pride in her physical appearance.

 

16) Are they neat or unorganized?

Aura puts a lot of effort in keeping her physical appearance neat but not so much her environment. She’s not a complete slob but she expects people to pick up after her.

 

17) Who do you think they’ll get along with best among their companions, if any?

 

It’s important to note that Aura is your best friend, until you’re no longer useful to her. She’ll sell you down the river with a smile and kiss. The only people she will have trouble with are other skilled liars and manipulators like Leliana, Varric and perhaps Vivienne. Aura will most likely remind Leliana of Marjolene so there’ll be tension there, Varric will be keeping an eye on her and a hand on Bianca whenever they are alone together but I picture her having a friendly rivalry with Vivienne.

 

18) Who will they romance, if anyone?

Aura doesn’t have the capacity for love. However if she finds it beneficial to romantically engage someone she will.

 

19) Do they have any scars? What are they from?

She has a thin scar across her stomach from being subdued by Templars.

 

20) If they met, how would your Inquisitor get along with your Warden? Your Hawke?

They’d all hate each other. I’m using my Queen Cousland and Viscount Hawke import for Aura. Cousland is my sugary sweet goodie goodie, she’d have issues with Aura because well…Aura is evil plain and simple. My Hawke would dislike Aura because she’s a manipulative, egotistical little ****.

 

21) What’s your Inquisitor’s opinion on each of the various races?

From a physical standpoint, she adores the Qunari as they would make the most intimidating minions. She doesn’t much care for the philosophy of the Qun though. She has no opinion on dwarves or humans, but she has issues with the Chantry as it barred her from her inheritance. Growing up in a wealthy home, Aura has come to view elves as servants and nothing more. The Circle did little to change that particular viewpoint.

I would've said the same thing, but ME3's multiplayer actually did a fairly good job and made some sense. I'm still not a fan of the idea, but it's possible they could make it work.

Amen. I have several games where the only reason I don't have all the achievements/trophies is because of multiplayer. It drives me nuts not having all of them, but I generally can't stand multiplayer. At least Mass Effect 3 did it right. All the multiplayer achievements also had a way to earn them through the single player game, and increasing Galactic Readiness could be done through their app instead. 

 

But honestly, I really hope they don't have multiplayer. I mean, I would feel bad for people that want it, but so often, once a game gets multiplayer, the focus tends to shift away from singleplayer. And so many games are going multiplayer and making it a part of the main game, and I just... I hate that. I don't like my video game experience to be dependent on other people being decent players, but also not jacka**es at the same time. So I really don't want them sneaking in multiplayer. 

 

Sorry for the rant. I just have so many anti-multiplayer feelings.

I don't know, a co-op could be nice. They could perhaps use the same system that they have in tor for the dialogue? Sounds like a good time to me.

I've been playing Divinity Original Sin and I think it's a great game that incorporates single player and multiplayer at the same time. But it's made with that idea since the beginning and I feel that if DA:I hasn't done that, they should stick with single player and perhaps add a multiplayer mode with a seperate map (like say areas especially for achievements or whatever). Plus Dragon Age always had these special moments (romances for example) that specifically targets one player. It'd be hard to make the whole game multiplayer.

I'm not going to lie, I'll be very disappointed if multiplayer happens.  I'll get over it though.  I might even play it, but after how Mass Effect 3's multiplayer turned out at the end-I'm very leery of it.  I'd have to wait and see if it was going to turn into another appease the elite player fan base nightmare with micro-transaction hell.

I do think multiplayer would have bern brought up by now and we'd have seen footage.

So slot one is Saarebas, slot two is unnamed lady Cadash, slot three is Cousland moron, slot four is Dalish lady, slot five is..is...

I'm deleting them from the keep as soon as I can get the inquisitor built, I see that already.
