People will find things they don't like in everything. You can't please everyone. But I do feel for those of you who have made up huge and elaborate backstories that no longer fit. I hope you can tweak them so that they fit once more, or that you come up with even better ideas now that you know what you have to work with in game!

Hamsters are so cuuuute...I used to have a little rodent as a pet and he snuck out a couple of times in the middle of the night to make a nest that consisted entirely of shredded printer paper and sunflower seeds (his favorite treat)...well, it was mostly made of sunflower seeds.
