Hello everyone, long time lurker. I just wanted to say that I'm actually a little more positive since they confirmed 2 race gated options. Varric and Bull are the most likely to be gated imho. Can't really see the need for it with the other characters. Four are already gated, one is open for everyone and I can't see an obvious reason why the others would be gated. Anyway, I hope we get our dwarf. It's been a long time coming.

My sister told me to just write more if we couldn't find it. I told her I wasn't made of words and could only do such much Varric lovin of my own a day, and that I needed to remember that other people loved him to.
She told me I was making her hate the game with all of my talk of romances

Long time lurker popping in! I felt the need to add to the reminders from the other newbies to STAY POSITIVE! Unless the devs specifically say Varric's not a romance option, we NEVER give up hope!
I mean, I remember when ME3 came out. When a few people got the early copies of the game and were releasing info the devs hadn't about romances they had found, they were all saying Kaidan wasn't available for m/m romances. There were a lot of tears. But then the game came out, and everyone else got it and... Ta-Da! They were wrong (turns out the couple of people that had posted had just missed the trigger for the new romance with him) and Mr. Alenko was available to both M!Shep and FemShep!
So you know what, don't listen to the other people. It doesn't matter if others outside this group are being nay-sayers or downers. No matter what they say, unless the devs explicitly say "No," there is still a chance - and a fairly good one, in my opinion - that we will have the opportunity to romance the paragon of manliness himself.
So...
Varric deserves that much from us at least.

My mom likes Dragon Age. She doesn't play video games but she likes watching me play.
She didn't agree with my choice in Zevran (Hard core Alistair fan girl, she turned out to be ) but she likes Fenris in Dragon Age 2 (Who I romanced this time, despite me almost falling for Isabela again). BUT, she was watching me play a few days ago and out of nowhere she laughed and said, "Oh, I want you to romance him!" after a certain party banter?
I asked who...and she said "Varric"
My tears...I was like "I CAN'T MOM. I wish I could... But I can't" hahaha
