For two centuries the entirity of Thedas knew nothing of war, it took armies from Nevarra, Orlais, the Free Marches, The Imperium and the combined fleets of the Merchant Princes of Antiva and the circle of Magi tossed in to crush the Qunari menace originally when they showed up to began their conquest of the known world.

Two centuries of battle, i often find that number incomprehensible, modern society as it stands considers a war that lasts a decade, one that has been ongoing forever.

The Qunari are the only enemy i'd consider more pressing then darkspawn, they are a threat to every sapient creature in thedas, they are not the cancer of darkspawn nor the ageless aggression of the elves, they are alien.

I respect the Qunari as much as i respected the Taliban on the field, i respect their abilities, and their drive but they are the enemy to the one thing i think Thedas has going for it, individuality.

Also...elves are an enemy ? lolwut, can you elaborate on that Z ?

An enemy of man yes.

The Dalish at the very least, until they break or die, they will remain an enemy.

I suppose in a very specific human perspective, I can see that. I'm more of a "let's all try to be friends even though we're mostly crazy" type of person, though.  ^_^

I see your point about the qunari, but you're forgetting that wars of a hundred years plus weren't that rare in the middle ages.  Hell, even the Wars of the Roses that closed it off is generally agreed to be over a couple of decades long.  Wars took longer before mass transport was a thing.

Also, respectfully, I think I'd disagree about the threat of Qunari.  Their threat isn't the lack of individuality, it's the lack of flexibility.  The Qunari don't know how to handle things the Tome of Koslun doesn't tell them about, and that makes them phenomenally weak in some areas.  If they controlled everything, all it would take is one unexpected event - a Blight, a sudden Fade Breach, a Civil War, and we'd all be humped.

Also I personally think the Dalish are too interested in their own thing to be anything like a threat to anyone.  But none of my characters have been especially patriotic - my Aeducan basically wanted the dwarves to get back their Thaigs only in the sense that it'd help the Wardens, and my Cousland basically just wanted to have sex and gain extraordinary power, both of which he did.  And my Hawke was an ordinary person thrown into events they barely comprehended, and was only loyal to like, four people.

Mmm most of my PC follow Gihren Zabi's book of politics.

Spoiler

Just remove the Federation and replace it with Qunari, Tevinter, Darkspawn or what have you!

o_o Basically everything that doesn't promote the growth of man as a singular entity is a an enemy of mine.

Their continued existence is an insult to Humanity, their cousins abandoned their trappings of individuality and were assimilated into Human culture, in time they will be human.

Their very reluctance to embrace reality makes me a liability, and a perspective foe.

They are a weak enemy, but an enemy none the less.

Didn't you literally just say individuality was Thedas' strength?  Now you're saying the Dalish need to surrender that...but somehow humans shouldn't surrender to the Qun?

Little hypocritical, dontcha think?  Then again, from the speech your characters seem ripped from 40k's Imperium of Man, so it's not entirely unreasonable.

Also don't take that as a criticism.  I love 40k.  It's just that playing a 40k character in a Bioware RPG (just like playing an actual Qun follower) would lead to me killing every single companion and having to do the whole game by myself.

I did indeed.

And what is 99.99 percent of Thedas?

Humanity.

Also i don't roll Imperium, bloody bunch corpse of worshipers.

There is only the greater good.

I like being nice, and puppies and kittens and rainbows. And Varric! Who is also nice and has friends of all kinds!

Everyone just needs a hug. And some ale. and a good story. and hopefully not eventually a bar fight, but I'm not going to say I'd be completely against it after one too many as long as nobody dies.

Ah.  You're TAU.  This explains so much.

Would you care to explain why you support a pathetically tiny and overhyped race who haven't even developed ftl and wouldn't know the true power of the universe if they tried to touch it?  Who thought they'd killed the god of sensuous delights when they'd merely slain one of his servants?  Who tried to MAKE PEACE with the NECRONS?!?!?  (I partly joke - I don't mind the Tau THAT much, though they make little to no lore sense).

No, my friend, it is the machinations of the Lord of Fate that I support.  Also, 99.9% of Thedas isn't human.  It's 75% at most.  And the whole point of individuality is that even if everyone ELSE on the WHOLE PLANET is one thing and you are another then that's ok.  Duh.

Though Chernaya is right, I am getting off topic, and I should save my paranoid nutter moments for my Black Crusade campaign on mondays.

Individuality is the most important thing. Therefore all individuals should match the majority.

That's the kind of sense that isn't.

Ah, I always note them.  After getting the last word in, which is kind of cruel of me.  Can't allow someone to promote the Tau though.  Could never go back to /tg/ if I let that happen.

EDIT: Wait, you like Lawful Evil and are Tau?  What?  In what world does that make sense Warder_Z?  They're the LEAST evil race in 40k!

Unfortunately I don't like coffee, find order and stability overrated, and haven't seen enough of Orlais to comment on it.  The Templars are alright, though the ones in Kirkwall were dicks, and I like Lawful Evil though.  See?  Everyone can find common ground!

Lawful Evil is pretty much the exact opposite of the typical PCs I play, but variety is the spice of life.  ^_^ I might try to pull through with one this time. If Vivienne ends up being a romance, this will greatly heighten my motivation for it, though.

Exactly, One Culture, One system of belief, One language, one religion, one creed, one nation, one world.

They came into the galaxy and were exposed to it, their technology is diffrent, their tactics, beliefs, and ideology, all diffrent and they were exposed to the rigors and ardor of a hostile galaxy and overcame everything it threw off them.

It fought off the Imperium, It fought off a hive fleet, it fought off the necrons, it defeated an Ork Waarg, need i go on?

They are different, united and yet they still win.

Also railguns!

There is a one per one hundred to five hundred for every race other then Humanity, it is the most populas, the most wide spread and its culture is there for dominant.

For every one hundred humans, you will have a single dwarf or elf, and for every five hundred humans you will have one Qunari, need i go on?

It is the majority.

Nah, as I said I save my Lawful Evil for my TT games, where I generally play right bastards, cause my GM's a right bastard and I need to play one to survive.  In general I try to mix things up with CRPGs and don't alignment confine myself - my Aeducan Warden was, I guess, Neutral/Lawful Evil/Neutral at first, but moved firmly towards True Neutral over time.  My first Hawke was almost certainly Chaotic Good, but would go straight up Chaotic Evil if you so much as flicked fingers at Bethany.

Their society is built upon the control of every one working together whether they like it or not for a common directive!

But your point about unity is what the Qunari want.  I just explained why it's fragile and prone to breaking.  You want the Qun of Humanity, which I think would be even WORSE, because no-one would stick to it because humans are corruptible whereas qunari (seem to be) honest sorts.

On the Tau: their fluff makes no sense.  Without FTL, almost everything they've done is impossible.  It's a canon stated FACT that they only fought off the Imperium due to the Imperium not giving a damn about them because they're beneath their notice - which given that their empire only covers 30 planets, it does!  Moreover, they're next to the Ultrafails, the most useless of the Imperium's finest, and thus have gotten off lightly.  As for the Necrons - buddy, I don't know what codex you got that from, but if it was 5th or 6th it was likely due to the dumbing down of the Necrons to lelspace Tomb Kings rather than the faceless horrors they were before.

Railguns ARE cool though, and Riptides are simply winbucketsandwhiches.

I said LEAST evil.  They want good, they just aren't ashamed to use evil methods to get there.  The Imperium is the most Lawful Evil, and does basically all the same things except for no good purpose, and on a much vaster more terrifying scale.  I'd pick them if I were you.  Or the Eldar.  F***ing Eldar.
