Oh, no no no.
Not you :) It's something completely different. I was literally trying to figure it out a few days ago and went back to trying it again today.
My timing of asking just lined up with your conversation/debate :3

Well, anyway, sorry if I got overenthusiastic - I just don't often run into a fellow DA fan who ALSO knows and likes 40k.  It's kinda funny though because literally nine days ago I was part of a debate with my GM where I was defending the Tau, and now I find the situation reversed....

Go to your username click arrow down and go to manage ignore pref. There is an option to add new users to your ignore pref and the level of ignoring you can do.

Considering the amount of off topic trolling here, I don't blame you.

Anyway, how about that Varric hey? Currently replaying DA2 and loving Varric's companion banter. His concern for Merril is rather sweet.

But your point about unity is what the Qunari want.  I just explained why it's fragile and prone to breaking.  You want the Qun of Humanity, which I think would be even WORSE, because no-one would stick to it because humans are corruptible whereas qunari (seem to be) honest sorts.

I never denied that their dream didn't have merits, they are simply an invader however, no unity can come from forceful integration of culture, but Humanity has an edge in this arena.

The Chantry, the faith, the thing that ties humanity together, the thing that can craft a thedosian Empire.

The dissolving of the various nation states and monarchies into a singular whole, an empire of the scale not seen since the ancient imperium.

Of course for my perfect little world, all the bad elements need to be ripped out by the root, no darkspawn, dalish, qunari and etc.

I said LEAST evil.  They want good, they just aren't ashamed to use evil methods to get there.  The Imperium is the most Lawful Evil, and does basically all the same things except for no good purpose, and on a much vaster more terrifying scale.  I'd pick them if I were you.  Or the Eldar.  F***ing Eldar.

._. The Imperium corrupt decaying joke.

On the Tau: their fluff makes no sense.  Without FTL, almost everything they've done is impossible.  It's a canon stated FACT that they only fought off the Imperium due to the Imperium not giving a damn about them because they're beneath their notice - which given that their empire only covers 30 planets, it does!  Moreover, they're next to the Ultrafails, the most useless of the Imperium's finest, and thus have gotten off lightly.  As for the Necrons - buddy, I don't know what codex you got that from, but if it was 5th or 6th it was likely due to the dumbing down of the Necrons to lelspace Tomb Kings rather than the faceless horrors they were before.

Railguns ARE cool though, and Riptides are simply winbucketsandwhiches.

When the Tau Empire explodes into the galaxy in earnest, people will look back on the days of mocking the faction and wonder, why just why the Imperium, The Eldar, Orks, Necrons, Nids, and whatever else that chaos ridden plain has to offer didn't stop them when they could be stopped.

Beyond that, i don't see you arguing the point of the Empire's strength, its small sure, but it isn't losing ground, as the Imperium decays and falls inward, the Empire grows, As the Orks ravage and obliterate, the Empire invents and builds. As the Necrons awaken to serve their ancient masters, the Tau are ever pushing forward, and beyond that FTL in the WH uni is a double edge sword bro, do you know how many fleets the Imperium lost in the warp because it was just convenient do it that way?

Sure the Imperium has better tech...to a degree, but all of their good toys are from their pre heresy days, and are impossible to reconstruct in the modern era, the Empire though?

They build, evolve and grow.

Its been a while since i chatted Warhammer! I forgot how much i enjoyed it.

No need to apologize. :) I get it, not the 40k part because I have no clue what that is lol, the having in common and defending thing you like part.

I have to ask - if I ignore someone, and they change their user name, will the ignore still go through?

I normally don't use the computer to ignore someone - I can skip their posts all on my own - but this is the first forum I've been active on where people can change their user names at will, and it makes it difficult sometimes.

Mmmm that's a good question, I think it would stay because it's attached to the user and not necessarily the name, but I'm not certain!

Isn't losing ground.  It's 30 planets!  That's tiny!  The Tau take ages to get advances - faster than the other races, but still slow enough for it to screw em over.  The Tyranids when they finally arrive properly will roflstomp everyone, or Abaddon will finally pull his finger out and bring the glory of CHAOS to the whole world.  In terms of FTL all I meant was that in the latest codex they've got no FTL at all whereas they used to have that warpskipping thing that made them slightly viable.  The Tau simply don't have the manpower to face off against any of the proper factions if they were seriously targeted - for one thing, one properly specced imperial ship could completely wipe out their command structure, and given that they've only got 30 planets, 30 ships could wipe out their empire.  Ok, the ships would be destroyed, but it could be done.

Chatting Warhams is a lot of fun, isn't it?

Chatting Warhams is a lot of fun, isn't it?

And in time that thirty will become sixty, ninety, more.

As the Imperium falls back to the core and terra, and leave entire systems abandoned to Orks, Necrons or their own corrupted brethren the Empire will continue to grow, the Imperium has been on the decline since the first codex, since before that.

The Tau have the potential to become a galactic superpower solely because they are the only faction, not being pushed back by anything, their borders are the only ones growing.

Not to mention, them curbstomping the Orks seriously impressed me, the Imperium would have vaped the planet and left it, oh no the Tau vaped the planet and then colonized it.

Sure they have their own little schism ongoing but the Tau will endure, the greater good will endure.

Wait they have no warp at all now? Well that sucks...Whatever.

Also note that an Imperial fleet made contact with a properly specced out Tau world if you recall, it managed to breach and invade the planet after disabling its orbital defenses and defense fleet, and even managed to press inward, despite taking heavy losses from the planetary defenses which if i recall correctly just fragged their cruisers, but once they met heavy inground resistance their advance stumbled and then it just fell apart once their orbital support got pushed back by incoming Tau warships.

Sure their fight got postponned by the arrival of the Nid hive fleet gorgon, but still.

The Tau were winning that battle.

Clearly taking bed rest after his 'gaping chest wound' from my qunari inquisitor nuzzling him.  Duh.

Actually given the conversation between Morrigan and Sten, I can totally see that happening after a romance scene with almost anyone.  The qunari inquisitor rolls over with a contented expression - and realises their partner is unconscious and bleeding.  Cue massive panic, summoning of medics and bizarre reluctance to explain WHY Varric is unconscious and bleeding while naked.

Dude, you don't invade the Tau.  Their ground forces are actually pretty good.

What you do if you want to wipe them out is specc out thirty ships with Miloslav Warp Engines.  You crew these ships with the glorious faithful and the IN equivalent of penal crews.  Then you Warp Drive into each Tau System and drigger Warp engine Cascade over the planet's surface.

The range for this is roughly 200,000km, much larger than any planet's radius.  This effectively cloaks the planet in the Warp, and lets the demons do the killing for you.  They, of course, cannot last, and the Imperium has far more ways to deal with 30 demon planets than an innovative and dangerous enemy.
