Not sure if its the mod they were talking about but here's a bearded Varric.
Why would anyone do such a cruel thing to Varric? I'm not a fan of beards, so its not suprising I prefer him without but even though I'm not a big fan of chest hair either the stylish open shirt is Varric's thing and they so tackily covered it up. I'm pro-neckchief since that's at least stylish as is befitting of Varric.

I have no problem with beards but the fact that Varric shaves his off is rather important part of his character design. Varric shaving gives a bit of insight into his character, it shows right up front that he's a non traditional dwarf.
I've never liked the majority of mods that redesign companions physical appearances.
