It looks that way, I'm not surprised about her return though. After Sheryl(?) hinted she may not necessarily be dead I suspected she'd make an appearance or something in DA3. I'd just hoped it'd be more along the lines of closure so he could move on with our Inquizzys. >.>

Thanks for the translation, well at least he's back in some form at least but I've been on this thread so long with all you wonderful people that I was hoping that he was a LI, so it's still disappointing.-I can still have my head canon

I always thought Varric's story was unfinnished in DA2 and then they decided to bring him back in DA:I

 

So I always suspected they planned to have him reunite with Bianca when they announced him again.

 

I'd figured as much too, that's why I gave up on the dream for a little while after DA2. But then I joined the Bioware Forums and got sucked back into it. I know wanting a romance with him was a long shot but it was nice to have hope for awhile ya'know? I certainly don't regret it either, I met lot's of great people in this thread!

Yes, they were most certainly aware of Varric's many, many fans. And it almost sounds like they wanted to do it, but Varric's character and his growth and character arcs didn't make it possible. It's actually comforting to know that these characters have such a solid presence and past and personality that they can't be shoehorned into romances if they have other things going on. It's almost like they have a little life of their own! It's definitely a sign that they're going to be very fleshed out and well-written characters!

I'm also a little miffed about the brilliant way they chose to convey the information. You know in a fairly random interview with Swedish IGN. 

I can't say this wasn't expected but I'm more disappointed in the way it was handled.

Whelp I just realized why I'm not freaking out and its not being hopeful or it being a lack of sleep. I just can't feel a thing right now not sure if thats because I'm that ticked off or not. Really should have been told sooner about him not being an LI and NOT have to find out this way.

It's terrible for me to admit but I kind of gave up hope completely when we got that tweet from Solas's VA. I had a private moment of grief. I'm just annoyed right now that it was dragged out for this long. 

 

Anyway thanks to everyone who offered their sympathies to us, you've all been very sweet. At least we get our buddy back so we're luckier than most. 

 

EDIT: Also, is it brilliant or terrible that we got the "no" on page 666? I knew we should have prayed harder.
