Welcome outatime! Wow, 3 previous lurkers in one day deciding to spread the Varric love... is something in the air? *twilight zone music*

I KNEW THERE WAS SOMETHING I WANTED TO TELL YOU ALL -caps I'm sorry-

 

My mom likes Dragon Age. She doesn't play video games but she likes watching me play.

 

She didn't agree with my choice in Zevran (Hard core Alistair fan girl, she turned out to be ) but she likes Fenris in Dragon Age 2 (Who I romanced this time, despite me almost falling for Isabela again). BUT, she was watching me play  a few days ago and out of nowhere she laughed and said, "Oh, I want you to romance him!" after a certain party banter?

 

I asked who...and she said "Varric"

My tears...I was like "I CAN'T MOM. I wish I could... But I can't" hahaha

 

Your mom sounds AWESOME...and she has awesome taste.

I think the reason lurkers come out to talk to us more is because we're more active AND they can see we're really friendly. : )

I may be an adult living on my own but My mom comes to visit a lot (especially now that I'm with child) and I love video games so we bond over it a lot.

 

She knows the Resident Evil lore almost as well as I do because it's one of my most favorite game series haha.

HI! And I don't know about the rest, but I de-lurked because I saw all the other lurkers coming forward and sharing positive thoughts, so I thought I would too. Especially since I remembered all the FEELINGS from right before the release of ME3. 

 

God, I hope Bioware doesn't hold out on the romance details this time. It's the waiting that is going to kill me. 

 

I must know if I can get in some cuddle-time with my dwarf.

I am an RE fan girl I even stood on line midnight release for 6. I will play anything with an RE title even if its bad. XD

Resident Evil is definitely a great series, I just wish the games would go back to being more scary and less actiony. Which is why I'm really looking forward to "The Evil Within" from the original RE creator. And Outlast is looking pretty great, so I might check it out too!

Me too. They keep saying they'll go back to horror but...Eh. Leon's re6 campaign was the closest to horror and I wasn't scared haha.

 

I also look back fondly to the horrible cheesy lines in Resident Evil

Outlast is amazing. If you want more scare and less action, try it. Sorry, getting off-topic... the horror-nerd in me is just surfacing from all this talk of RE and Outlast.

Yes! We could use more positivity at this point, Natashina is like a beacon of light in the Varric fandom, I swear. We can definitely use more people like her around to keep spirits up! She's like our official, unofficial Mascot!

And just so this post isn't devoid of Varric, I have to ask. How does everyone feel about this game having the option of equipping Varric with daggers? I have mixed feelings. I mean... I don't know if I'll be able to do it. I won't really need another ranged character, but... Varric without Bianca just seems... wrong.

I had been reading stuff in the romance thread and it was so depressing. I mean just because the Varric fans aren't as vocal as the Cullenites doesn't mean they don't exist, right? And everyone seems to rule Varric out, so I had to say something

1. Leon. No questions asked. Once someone blocked me on facebook because we had a debate about Leon/Chris. I found it hilarious they took it so seriously, because I do love both characters, but Leon is my bby.

 

2. I personally won't be equipping Varric with daggers (most likely), but the option to do so doesn't bother me. I just think Bianca (the crossbow) is an awesome weapon.

I love them both too, but I'd also say Leon JUST because he is such a loser now (In the best way. I mean, have you played Mercaneries in re6? His taunt is "check and mate buddy" I laugh so hard every time) And he acts like such a ladies man I can't...Oh Leon.  I was surprised that I absolutely fell in love with Jake. I mean, him being

Wesker's kid makes no sense in the lore but whatever, he was an awesome addition

And Sherry..Well,  I have no words. I have to admit I thought the past came back to haunt me and that was Ashley rather than Sherry..gawd no.

 

 

I will try it out... but at the very least you can't give him a bow rather than Bianca. THAT would be weird. Haha
