Eh, I'm kind of leery of the automated translators to be honest. Any oddities in the conversion can sometimes make all the difference in coming to the wrong conclusion. I'd rather wait to hear it from someone breathing and fluent in the language.

I'm Swedish and the article does indeed say that Varric is not an option, there's no way to interpret it otherwise. Mike also says that this is the first time that they reveal that he's not romanceable in DA:I.

 

I'm sad to see that he won't be romanceable, I love Varric

I hope so too. I'm interested in him as a character, not as a romance but I want the people that do want him as one to get it and while I'm upset by no Varricmance, I still have Iron Bull and Cullen, so 2/3 but I would still have liked 3/3. Oh well, you can't win them all.

English confirmation would be courteous, however.

I think it's nice when they give out info to some different places, then everyone gets to participate. They are English speakers so it's no wonder that most info goes out in English but it is nice to get some new info in your own language every now and then  =)
