My daughters hooked me on BW games and DA specifically so it happens, lol. Try explaining to your non-gaming family why your daughters give you games for your b'day and XMas, though...

I've gotten to the point I plan ahead just for the fade. It has always been one of the biggest challenges for me for some odd reason. Warriors have to be templars for sure. Mages usually don't have that much trouble with it anyway, but rogues are still a bit tricky. The main strategy I use is just shape shifting a lot for the health regain boosts. sigh...I still hate the fade!

Why would it? He wasn't a romance option in DA2, and it didn't stop us finding him hot.

I haven't posted here since I usually lurk in the Dorian thread, but I came to offer my sympathies. I keep changing bets on who the last two LIs are and my most recent change was that of Varric (race-gated and heterosexual for female dwarfs- betting Cullen is the other race-gated heterosexual character) and Solas.
At that time, as much as I knew Bianca was going to factor into this somehow, the more I thought about it, the more it seemed very plausible that Varric would be one of the last to be announced. I mean, I had a chart made and lined up and it made sense to me then that he would be a character your (dwarven female) Inquisitor would engage in a romantic relationship.
So... this threw a spanner in my predictions yet again and it's back to the drawing board now with the two spots left for three characters. I'm sorry your hopes were dashed for this part of the Inquisition story and I do hope there's some consolation, maybe, in that Varric is perhaps the most loyal of the companions.

I'm glad (and surprised) the usual haters haven't spat on our faces.
I've never felt so much love from other fan-threads since the time Jacobmancers (yes, I was one) discovered about the "baby daddy" arc.
Back then people who disliked Jacob actually said they feel sorry for us because we were a minority that obviously wasn't bothered by Bioware.
I really thought that with such a large fanbase, much like Garrus (both are famously bros), Bioware would be open-minded enough to try something different.
Instead, this is what we got.
After so many years of waiting.
I understand that Cullen fans waited longer but it was no mystery that we love Varric.
I don't know if I want to play DA:I anymore.
