Because people are horrible. I don't have a twitter account myself, but can others maybe send him some apologies for the behavior of others? He doesn't deserve this.

Should we send a message of support and thanks to counter-balance? :c I don't want this to make a bad impression on us... I'm always grateful to the creators of this  series, it has become a very important thing to me and I would have never had it without them.

So, I'm slow on the uptake, but I just wanted to offer my condolences to the Varric fans.   
I would give you hugs, but you seem to be drowning in them already, so I'll offer a pat on the head/shoulder/back instead.

 

To look on the positive, I really hope you all enjoy his story arc regardless, and I'll keep my fingers crossed for a future Dwarf romance for those of you who wanted it.

Ugh, that's like those morons who went on a stingray killing spree after the death of Steve Irwin. Yes, I'm sure the most hardcore animal lover on the planet would have approved of you slaughtering the creatures he loved in some misguided attempt at 'revenge'.Some people, I swear...

I'm sorry I shouldn't laugh at this but...seriously...people went on a stringray massacre after Steve Irwin? Totally picturing all these middle class suburbanite Americans in blue face paint running into the ocean screaming about justice. That was just the laugh I needed today.

I don't think people who hoped to romance Varric are pathetic, just those who feel they are entitled to it and personally attack people because of it.
