I have Steam as well but just feels really weird playing without a controller for me, that and for some reason Steam makes my laptop freak out and start heating way to quickly. And getting a new desktop computer to game on is out of the question with how much it would cost and the conflicting thoughts on what kind of computer should be bought in my house. So previous gen for me and never visiting the BSN when the new games after this come out until years later when I can buy an xbox one much cheaper (probably right before another new console comes out, thats how it seems to work for me usually)

Buying a new computer can be difficult unless you know exactly what you want, it's one of the downsides with PC. I'm lucky, my man get the parts for me because he's way more interested in hardware than I am. I give him a budget and he takes care of it. But the important thing is that you'll be able to play the game the way you prefer to play it. Graphics may be pretty but when it comes down to it, it's the gameplay that matters. :)

And I'm sure the 360 will still do Varric's chest hair justice!

Yeah, it's insane how expensive console games are. I could never afford games for console, right now the only games I buy at release are Bioware and Blizzard titles. Thank GabeN for Steam and the glory of it's sale! Too bad console players can't benefit from it :(

I know its insane that they cost so much and I struggle to buy all the games I want new-the bulk of them are pre-owned or on sale-, so I've had to become picky with which games I can afford to pay full price and which ones can wait till a much later time.

I would love to play games on a PC and benefit from Steam sales, but can't due to a old riding injury that damaged my wrists and it hurts even with wrist braces on, the console controllers, especially the PS4 one, are easier for me to use.

Lucky. No one really in my house that knows much about computers or understands how much they vary just trying to buy a laptop with my grandmother was a nightmare since I wanted one for gaming (even though I do little of it) and she just wanted to get the cheapest one we could find. Hard to get what you want when you have someone undermining your questions to the people that work there. Next time I'm going with my tech savvy uncle he'll be of much more help I hope.

I'm sure it will  but I think I may have him in that red neckerchief most of the time though, he looks rather dashing it in to me.

As I previously mentioned, you can still use a controller but I understand! And if you've already bought a next gen console, it's a lot of money to buy a decent PC as well. The important thing is that you find a way to play the game :)

Thanks Ynqve,  I didn't know you could get controllers for a PC, you learn something new every day. The main thing like you said , is that I've found a way to play a game series that I love.

Oh friend there is so much for you to learn :)

It goes so far beyond controllers.

How about an actual control panel for a mech?

I am not kidding

xl_Steel_Battalion_Controller-2.jpg

That's for Steel Battalion, horrible game but the controller is awesome.

Yeah, I'm not exactly what you would call computer tech savvy, all I know is you can turn it on, type, search the web, play games etc. on it, I have a laptop which I use mostly for Uni assignments or using the internet and that's about it.

I found it hilariously ironic that we discovered Varric's LI status on page 666. I mean, I'm not saying that Bioware is supporting satan by making Varric unromanceable but-....actually, I am saying that. :P Shame on you Bioware! haha

I hope you don't mind but I just viewed your profile to fix it. :P

Not at all, you've done a great service milady. Whew, disaster averted everyone!

Hello all.  Everything about the MP just now, it seems like, all over.  Where's the crazy fanart, and hugs and the ranting arguments?  Okay, forget the last one.

How's everyone in our virtual Hanged Man today?

I've been re-watching Doctor Who and sighing a bit and going outside and watching men in metal suits hit each other with swords, hence my...my lack of activity.  I'm just waiting for something else to grab me with regard to DA:I, I wasn't interested in MP...so we'll see what PAX brings, something to give me goosebumps I hope...

I'm excited that we're getting so many panels and demos in PAX. Let's hope there's something exciting for everyone.

As for MP, I didn't want it and I've never played it but Cullenites and Solassians made the idea of a Failquisition sound really fun. I'm open to being really bad at it with you guys if you don't mind.

There is plenty of people on here and the other threads on various platforms, so I hope you find someone/people to play the MP with and get your new PC in time for Inquisition.

I'm mostly a lurker here.  Day is good and it is almost over for me.  I'm a PC.  I'm pretty shy about MP scenarios, but am willing to give it a shot with another Varricmancer.  You guys are great!

We should totally try to set up a few Varricmancer MP runs once the game is out. That would be lovely! :)

I'm still trying to come to terms with multiplayer.  I'm taking it like finding out the game has an incurable disease.  Sure it's not the fatal kind and it will live a mostly normal life, but it'll always be there making what would have been a perfect rpg feel less then it could have been.

Okay, venting aside...  Howdy fellow Varric fans!   :D

On the bright side, it's optional. :) I'm glad they have it there for people who enjoy it and I'm even happier that it won't effect anything in my single-player mode.

And HELLO! <3 How are you? ^_^
