D'awww, have a hug instead! :)

-snip-

Lol awkward hug. But I'd be all over the hugging. My American friends tell me I'd get into all sorts of awkward situations there because I'm a hug person even by local standards and people are generally less inclined to physical contact there.

Oh dear, I wonder how you'd fit in over here. Americans are considered to be extremely forward in comparison to us Swedes xD

Omg, you Swedes would jump back several feet and stare at me very judgingly  And then I'd be all 'I'm sorry'... What a mess

So when we do our Varricmancer MP runs we need some good battle cries or cheesy one liners. I'm thinking "for the chest hair!"

:D Yeah, exactly. And when things go down: "Chesthair, NO!"

And then we would calm down and invite you for fika so that you could teach us all of your hugging ways xD

*googles* It involves coffee? That's the way to my heart  :) It would work out very well then. I hope I get the chance to visit some day.

But yeah, here we greet most people by both hugging and kissing on the cheeks. I usually remember to offer my hand to people from Europe and America, though. But both the German and the Australian exchange students back in my school days took to the hugging completely very soon.

I explained a little of it previously but I'm having problems quoting. Basically, I thought a few things you said would be funny in a tumblr comic/exaggerated  sort of scenario not actually in-game. Specifically, Iron Bull maybe using Sera as a weapon against Varric instead of a random object, or Vivienne laughing maniacally as she burns Skyhold to the ground but still somehow managing to look classy while doing it.  But of course, being typical ME, I fail to remember sometimes that people can't see what I'm thinking and that it's up to me to clarify these sorts of things.

Which is something I completely failed to do with my comment, so it probably seemed to everyone that I thought that sort of behavior is acceptable. I know *I* would have read it that way because there really isn't any other way of interpreting it.  But that isn't the case at all, and I didn't think about that when I was typing out my response. If you knew me in real life you'd know that this happens alot.

Things I say get taken out of context because I don't communicate very well at times and it's probably worse online.

(I need to work on that) :? *sigh* Which is what I was afraid was happening because of my response....I certainly don't want people to think I'm the sort of person to support violence from an LI in any scenario.....

I remember the first time I met my Cuban friend's family, and they greeted me with that kiss to the cheek thing I was really surprised. XD Not in a bad way, I just didn't expect it. They were very kind and treated me instantly like family.I think it's intriguing to see how different cultures act in such situations. ^_^

aw *hugs* I didn't really read the post you're talking about but I'm sure nobody thought that way. That would actually be a funny thing to see in a comic. xD I'm curious to see how jealousy will be handled in game... I remember back in Origins when Alistair got jealous over Leliana he basically just acted like a kicked puppy and I felt so bad. xD;

Oh yes it involves coffee! Lot's of it. You could say it's a coffee break, but that doesn't really cover it. You can fika at work, with your gran or with your friends. It could also be used as a date! One thing is clear, fika is the reason why we are a nation of caffeine addicts xD And you would be most welcome :)

Yeah, the Vivienne thing actually got me thinking about Eska from Legend of Korra, and that's pretty funny! So chin up Chesty, no harm done :) And just to be clear, I have no problem with some jealousy being present in the game. I just don't want overly aggressive reactions. It's fine if your LI calls you out if you flirt too much, that's pretty normal. It's the whole possessiveness and violent part that I have issues with.

It's similar in Scotland, it depends on the person really. Some will like it, some will act awkward until you say where you're from and then invite you out drinking to learn more and then we have random people in the streets that walk about with signs offering hugs to people, so most just go with the flow.

Thanks, the first two are pretty much normal here, but the last one was seen as odd when it started up, it's mostly a city thing -closest one to where I live is Glasgow- but now no one bats an eye, we pretty much accepted it as the norm within a week.

It's fine, we're just comparing how people in our countries would react to being hugged as a greeting.

I don't mind hugs from people I'm at least semi-acquainted with, but it's nice to warn me first. XD I'm socially anxious so the touching stuff makes me really awkward unless I know someone really well.

I live in the southern bit of the united states (Alabama), and hugging is fairly common, especially with people who are religiously inclined.  Myself I find hugs awkward most of the time, not that I'm against them really.  Most everything I do is awkward, so if I avoided all awkward interactions that wouldn't leave me with anything but meeping at people.  Wait strike that, that would be uber awkward to start making strange noises when meeting people.  MEEP!

It's all good, I've been busy too since school started back.  ^_^ Nothing new I believe, so no worries about missing anything. I have the day off tomorrow so I think I'll start back up on the art requests I've gotten from people.

I think it's the calm before the storm. Pax is tomorrow, right? But until then, look at the glorious multiplayer menu screens! Still no PC UI though :(
