I was interested when I heard that, too, because I'm a big Walking Dead fan.
Same, great show.

The first.
What's annoying is I like horror movies, and I'm actually pretty good at handling scary crap in real life, so I legitimately have no idea why the game bothered me so much. Everything I've heard about 'em tells me I'd like 'em, and yet.
Silent Hill games are pure psychological horror. They don't rely on jumpscares, they completely unsettle you with a disturbing environment and a soundtrack that makes you feel uneasy. I can understand why some people don't feel comfortable playing themselves, but I would still really recommend watching them if that's something you could do without getting bored.
No, see, the alley didn't bother me at all. I was wandering around, found a key in the trunk of a car, and then suddenly my hindbrain started going, "WELP, THIS IS TOO MUCH FOR ME, I'LL JUST WAIT OUTSIDE." Because...???
It's definitely the sound in that case. Silent Hill is amazing with it's soundtrack and ambient noise. Without that it wouldn't be that scary at all.

That's a good idea. I'll hunt down an LP when I get a chance.

Ah, and then they make the radio a game mechanic, to keep you paying attention. Tricksy, that makes sense.
You know you're in trouble when the static starts up.
Better turn off your flashlight and hide in the dark!

Yeah, the radio is really only there to scare you. As soon as you hear it go off it puts you on edge. Because even if you can't see it you know somethings there.
.Your boyfriend sounds cool. I will seriously instafriend anyone who likes SH, they must be awesome. XD
But wait... a new Fallout is coming out?! o_o
I guess it's not officially announced, I just looked it up, but Gamespot ran an article a while back saying casting leaks said it would take place in Boston this time. It's supposedly been in production about a year, I think.

That's interesting. I enjoyed 3 and New Vegas. But I didn't like either setting that much. New Vegas literally just looked like a desert and New Vegas itself was really underwhelming. 3 had some interesting locations but it was also kind of bland in my opinion. I did enjoy both of them alot though and I'm looking forward to the next one.

Seriously, this is amazing news. I love the Fallout series. *-*
I love survival horror
The first two silent hills (2 namely) are just amazing.
Ugh I love them. I need to replay them again
Yes!
2 will always be my favorite, but I also love the original, Homecoming and Shattered Memories. Those last two don't get much love but I really did like them, so bah. xD
I haven't Disliked a silent hill game, but the first 2 are my favorites.
Same with Resident Evil but some people will burn me alive if I say while 1-Code Veronica were the best, I enjoyed 4, Out Break (and file 2), 5,and six so yeah.
Same. And funny story... I've had someone literally scream at me and block me on facebook for saying RE4 was my favorite and I preferred Leon over Chris.
Oh, people are too silly.

Sometimes I think Fandom Confessions could do to be a little more Catholic.
Silent Hill games seem more fun to watch than play. In my experience.

That's the case for many people, I've experienced. Some people just don't like the uncomfortable tension the game creates while playing, and others get bored because as a game where you have to solve puzzles and find items to progress, you can get stuck easily and it can become monotonous if you can't figure something out quickly. I've played them all myself, but sometimes I still like to watch others play to see their reactions during certain parts.
Just like how I'm sure many people would have gained amusement out of watching me play Outlast and crying for my mommy every 30 seconds.
Oh neat everyone's talking games here? I think I'll get cozy in here if you fine folk do not mind

Heya! We're talking horror... do you like horror?
If you do you get cookies. If you don't... you can still have a cookie because you're cool and I want you to stay.

I like watching horror games I sadly can not play them myself other wise cursing and throwing things happens^^; I love watching other people play horror games though! I'd stay anyway cause this thread is just filled with the nicest most awesome people!
*takes a cookie*
I watched my boyfriend play basically all the Silent Hill and Resident Evil games and we had a good time, but we also tend to go MST3K style on games while we're playing them sometimes and make jokes. It definitely takes the tension out of scary games. lol
There is one kind of scary game that I am going to try to play at some point and its a kind with no defense mechanic so it'll freak me out more. Its called 'Among the Sleep' I've watched a lets play of it and it does look interesting I just hope I can get through it without throwing my mouse across the room ^^;

That game does truly look good. I watched Markiplier play it. He kinda disturbs the ambiance with his jokes, but he's a good person so I let it slide. XD

His Let's Play was the one I watched as well which is why I'd like to try and play it myself since I'd like to try it without jokes to try and lighten the mood. I don't think I've seen another game where you play from the perspective of such a young child (in a horror game that I've seen at least) so that alone has me very interested in it.

I have a friend who's a big Markiplier fan but he's not my cup of tea. I'm not big into Let's Plays but the one I do like is HarshlyCritical as he's calmer and never shouts.
Also I prefer Leon to Chris as well, so you're not alone in that. ![]()
Speaking of survival horror, anyone else here stoked for The Evil Within? I played the demo at PAX Prime and I'm sooo excited for it now.
