The title for the Sera thread has been changed. Thanks for popping in here so I could take care of that.
I'm always in here anyway. I'm a little surprised my initial suggestion took off so well, but it seemed the most obvious thing to use ![]()

So you'll shout, then?
"I had a dwarf in my throat"

That's okay we'll shout for you.
You missed the innuendo...
oh.
Yep, this fits:
I could look at those dollmakers to try and make my Warden Prime and Champion Maximus.
I do have to say, there's a terrible lack of male dollmakers, though perhaps that's not entirely surprising.
You missed the innuendo...
Shout if you want to go faster!

Funny you should say that. There is a real Andraste, the Celtic Warrior Goddess.

Andraste is a warrior goddess, the goddess of victory, of ravens and of battles, similar in many ways to the Irish war goddess Morrigan. Her name is thought to mean "the invincible one" or "she who has not fallen". It is told that her presence was evoked on the eve of battle to curry favour. As a Goddess of divination, she was probably called upon to divine the outcome of battles and war.

I didn't know! That was interesting, especially the link between her and Boudicca. I wonder how much of an influence this has been for them.

And the Jesus parallels just got stronger! He foresaw his agonizing death. He was even stabbed! (with a spear, and it didn't kill him, but still)
Wanna bet Andraste knew too?

Between that and the Song of Ice and Fire books, I'd say a lot.
Woah, cool beans. I had no clue Andraste was even a real name, let alone a mythical goddess.

I hear you, I thought that was pretty awesome too. Plus, the spelling of the name Morrigan for the Irish war goddess. The amount of research that goes into some of these huge stories (Faerun/Thedas/the ME timeline,) is pretty insane if you think about it.
Going back to dwarves and Varric, that was one of things that I loved about DA right away. Rather than base so much on their games on the Tolkien style of fantasy, they tried something new. It wasn't until I got into Game of Thrones did I realize that that world really helped shaped Thedas.
Also, come to think of it, that's how I've finally made my peace with Varric not being available for romance. He really reminds me of Tyrion.
As much as I've whined and moaned about Bianca in the past, after watching the show, it really makes sense now why Varric is unavailable. I don't think he's in love with his crossbow (and it still irks me every time I read that bit of nonsense,) but I could have been really underestimating how much Bianca just destroyed him emotionally. For all I know, they could have been together since their teens or even childhood (dwarves have roughly the same lifespan as humans, provided they don't die fighting Darkspawn,) and they were together for ~20 years. Whatever happened, when it comes to that level of heartbreak, that really would close someone off emotionally.
I love Varric as a character, and as a friend, so I'm hoping some drinks, a few laughs, some bawdy songs and a few comforting hugs from my PC could help him out.
I completely see Varric as turning into Tyrion as of the last season of the show. I'll avoid spoilers if you haven't seen Season 4, but I will say that Tyrion is going to be probably an even more distrusting, colder version of himself as of the end of the season. With that in mind, I think I might know how to approach my friendship with Varric going forward.
While I absolutely adore Tyrion and do recognize that he and Varric have a few things in common: If Varric spends this game (spoilers for the last book)

SpoilerI'm gonna lose my ****.
LOL I don't think that's something we have to be too worried about though. For blue colored comments like that, it's why we have Iron Bull and Sera around. They'll take care of our Chivalrous Pervert needs. ![]()
