I was wondering.... if the way you import your Hawke's and Warden's appearance is through DAservers (Have no idea if this is true but thats what I've read and people are freakin out about it....) what happens to modded hair? Haha does your character become bald?!?

I wonder what will happen if I just start from scratch, since that's what I'll be doing. Will I just get a default appearance, or will I customize them when they appear ?

Meaning it'll just use your party potrait. Which means your hair will appear, just not on your warden in-game. Which makes me think you'll still have to customize them in-game, I just don't see appearance translating to a new engine.

You can select from default Hawkes/Wardens. I believe it's one of each of the two genders in the game for each available class/race. Garrett and Marian are the default names for the Hawkes. No customization through Keep currently, only what you made on a CC will carry over. And even then, we're not sure if more than the portrait will be used in any appearances or if it's just for your own happiness to see your Warden/Hawke included.

So long as your data is synced to your Origin account, you don't have to pick presets. You do get to change any choices you made for your heroes though! Love that feature, heh!

How do you know before the beta if your wardens are uploaded to origin?

I used another origin account which I forgot the info for years ago. I don't think this is accurate though, since I remember seeing a slide in a screenshot that asked whether Varric got Hawke's appearance right in his first story.

I mean, I could be using it wrong but my experience so far is that the Wardens and Hawkes I have synced to my Origins account appeared in the Keep. We're still way in beta (and I don't think I'm disclosing anything that hasn't been tweeted about or presented in passing at a con here) so there could be character alteration or big changes coming to this but this is how it works for me, a person with a few Wardens and Hawkes on one Origin account that I used to access Keep:

 

You log in, it asks if you want to use this account (yes, I am Gustave Flowbert), if it's your first time, it imports a ton of data and achievements from your games synced to your Origin account you're using to access Keep, then you can make a world state or edit one. When you're choosing a Warden or Hawke, your synced Wardens or Hawkes will appear. There is no customization but the portrait and name appears and the choices you made (though they can be altered).

 

I don't have multiple accounts and I haven't had trouble getting mine to sync in the past though, so I can't really help with trouble-shooting.

 

If they show up when you go to your old DAO/DA2 character pages, you're good to go, I believe.

 

And now I'm worried I'm breaking NDA but I really feel like this has been talked about or shown at the recent Montreal con if nothing else?

I've never been able to get my Warden's to upload to BSN so I don't know what's going to happen there lol.  Hawkes are there, but no Wardens...Origin's achievements are too *shrug*
