Screw them.  As long as Varric didn't hit on them first, they wouldn't care as much.  By the way, I also hope Varric is bisexual as well, I just don't think it's likely.  I have no problems sharing though.  

I never got the big deal about it either way. It's not like you can't tell Anders no. So what you gain rivalry points that they may not want? It's so ridiculously easy to gain them . I have nearly everyone maxed by act one.

 

They act like it's inconceivable that a bisexual man will hit on a guy that he thinks is handsome. Some guys interested in the same gender take the chance even if they're not sure the sexuality...so... why is it so wrong Anders does it in a game.

 

This is just my opinion.

Lesbians would too, which is worse IMHO. And yeah, I still think Vivienne is on for exactly that reason. But it's not like that'd be the first time things have been a bit unbalanced.

That's the part that has me a little bummed.  If Solas is bi, then gay/bi men and straight/bi ladies have one more option, but lesbians lose out.  If Vivienne is bi, then the gay men lose out.  I still maintain that if Varric isn't a LI and it means that either the gay or lesbian community has another option, I'd gladly step aside.  It'd hurt, but as a pansexual woman I have zero reason to complain about the choice of LIs I have access to.

I should take this opportunity to roleplay better. Maybe...my saarabas is a Do As Thou Will, Harm None type who wants to bring The Bill of Rights to Thedas...my dwarf is wary of magic because she's not used to it and has difficulty giving mages the benefit of the doubt, my Dalish thinks now is the sunset of their people and they should interbreed with nonelves as often as possible, and my human mage is militantly anti-circle.

Nope, I'm in the same boat. But it wouldn't bother me if straight women (probably because I'm not effected and will be romancing women too) had two options.

Sadly true. I remember in Jade Empire only being able to romance Silk Fox (Though honestly, That was fine because I love her and would chose her over Dawn Star anyway) the problem with it was they made it so difficult! It had to reload it a bunch of times to get it right >_>

I don't like to gloat, I would feel really awkward but deep down at my core I would be pissing myself, I don't like to do the "See how it feels!" stuff, I have done, but I try not to...there would be some twisted satisfaction I admit.  And then I'd be done.

Just be respectful if he is a LI in when you cheer, and be prepare for a flood of posters to come in here.  Not all of them would like the idea, doubly so if he's bisexual.

I think we're all going to be sorely tempted, but I think we should just stay gentlemen and ladies about it.  Besides, I wouldn't be surprised if there was a flood of congratulations coming from much of the posters.  Folks aren't opposed to the idea of a Varric romance as much as they think it isn't going to happen.  To me, saying "I told you so," isn't going to be as gratifying as hearing "Congrats!  I didn't think it would happen, but I'm glad you got him as a LI!"

 

So try to think about it that way.

Yes if he is an LI post a lot of celebrating gifs in this thread, and if someone comes in here complaining ignore them (it'll make the thread a happier and pleasanter place for everyone involved).

 

If he isn't an LI I think it'd be nice if we as a thread did the following things.

 

1. Keep our sad panda gifs to this thread

 

2. Make a list of happy optimistic (Varric related?) things to cheer ourselves up, so that this thread isn't all sad panda gifs.

 

3. Not complain either on this thread or any other thread besides "aww I was really hoping he would be an LI" and the previously mentioned sad gifs. It's okay to express disappointment, but pointing fingers, whining, and dissing other characters/their fans does nothing but caused hurt feelings and create a rather sour and unpleasant environment.

 

4. Ignore any naysayers, trolls our whiners that come onto this thread or others with the express purpose of dissing varric/his fans. 

 

And Most Importantly

5. Go on to the threads of the confirmed LI's and congratulate them (without mentioning that you would have preferred Varric). 

 

Whether or not he's romanceable this is currently my favorite thread on the forums, let's do our best to keep it that way
