Same here, Varric never left my party in DA2. Ever.
But I'm really interested in the other rogues too so this is...going to be difficult. 
I moved characters in and out to give them all a go at stuff, but (obviously) used the relevant character(s) for quests relating to them in particular i.e. Merrill for a Merrill quest, and so on. Varric got to go on all the really important missions, because, well, he's the guy telling the story!
If Adessa is my first playthrough, I'm going to be a rogue so I'll have less need of a rogue. Main reason I played a warrior so much in DA2 really, More reason to have Varric around!
Say guys i was playing Shadows of Mordor and there is a Dwarf named Torvin he looks a little bit like Varric and he is funny like Varric too 
I just realized that I'm not posting in here as much as I used to...this must be fixed.
So, I just realized that since I'm playing a lady Cadash archer in my first playthrough that I'll probably have to leave Varric out of my party for the most part.
He'll definitely be coming along in my second playthrough though. (Probably gonna play a Sword and Board male Qunari, I think he'll romance Dorian.)

yay, another person is finally here. 
I'm romancing Dorian with a qunari too! I wanted him to be a rogue initially... but what I had envisioned wasn't really what we're getting body-wise for the qunari men, so I may go warrior as well. I like to think of my rogues as slinky shadow people who are more nimble than muscular.

Yeah, kind of a shame that male Qunari's are huge no matter what. But it doesn't bother me too much.
Really looking forward to romancing Dorian, I've seen quiet a bit of praise for his romance from the dev's. If I wasn't such a Blackwall fan he'd definitely be my first play through romance.
Yeah, the devs seem to have some favorites lol. I've seen much love for Dorian and Iron Bull so far. Blackwall will most likely come before Dorian for me too though as I'm very eager to play my dwarf. I have no clue how they are going to get along though since I'm going to play her as a kind of hardened ex-criminal because of the Cadash background story... I'm a little afraid about not seeing approval this time around. XD

I know it is Varric blasphemy, but you could use a reset potion on him and make him a dagger rouge.

I could, but it would just feel wrong.
Varric and daggers? but he couldn't say things like "Say hi to Bianca!" Or worse, he might start to say that but then remember he's not using Bianca, become sad, get distracted and fall in battle. I would rescue him of course, but that would still be bad.
It should be a sin to have Varric use a weapon OTHER than Bianca. I will never have Varric part from Bianca, it's just part of his character.
There's a horror dream for you. The people who don't care abiut Varric or his lore taking Bianca from him!

I'm going to have trouble leaving Varric out of my party, he was in my party in DA2 all the time... I couldn't leave the house without that dwarf at my side^^ I'm guessing I'll have to rotate the companions through, just to see who fits best, but since I never play rogues (for some reason I just can't do it^^) it shouldn't be that hard bringing Varric along. I mean,there always are some doors or chests that delicious dwarf has to pick open for me 
I'm probably going to play as a warrior the first time round, just so I have the big armour on^^ I always play the heaviest class first, something of a habit of mine *gg*

PS: That's one horrifying nightmare, right there... Varric without Bianca... Not hearing that signature whirring of gears at the start of each skirmish... *shivers* Nope, that's too creepy. Varric has to keep Bianca!

Oh really? I need to keep playing then I was supposed to play it yesterday but then Valiant Hearts was 50% of on Steam and I caught a bad case of the feels...
Yay I took a week off after DA:I comes out. I'm gonna go full on hardcore gamer mode.

Selena Hawke, Hilarious, Charming and sassy rogue importing to Lily Trevelyan, Hilarious , Charming sass master who will Either romance Sera or IB .
In my had they will remind Varric of his best friend Hawke T_T
