I'm guessing Varric has just grown to understandably dislike anything related to red lyrium.

But when you say things like that it comes across as you trying to impose your standard of beauty and your idea of what a female should look like and be on everyone else. That's problematic. It's not the fact that you have an opinion or how you feel that's the problem. It's the way that you say it.
If it came across that way it was reader interpretation and nothing more.
You citing your opinion on how others may view it ultimately doesn't extend beyond how you view it.
It's relatively simple.

Warm towel on the afflicted area and some sleep will help.
As for what's up?
I started the next chapter of my story.

Exactly! If Conchita Wurst can look fabulous and feminine with a beard, why can't a female dwarf do the same?
And lol, yes that would have been hilarious! "My beard is bigger that yours" xD
That is a pretty fabulous beard...like Joel from Last of Us levels of fabulousness.

You were basically saying "I find it ugly and therefore it should not be in the game".. That doesn't leave much room for interpretation.

I don't find it attractive myself, but I don't understand why anyone would want to take out something that's completely optional. It makes no sense.

That's pretty much how I feel. I doubt I'll ever put a beard on my lady dwarfs, but if someone else want to do it then who am I to stop them.

Ooo, that's rough. I've some how managed to keep my iPhone intact for 3 years so far. Now I've probably jinxed myself and I'll drop it on a concrete floor tomorrow.

I've dropped it many times and it was fine. But this time it fell exactly on a corner and messed itself up. D= More annoyed with myself than anything else.

Well, bearded dwarven women... I'll be honest, I'm not sure if I like that so much... Probably won't use it^^ At least not on my female dwarf (maybe only for the lol's^^) but I can understand that the dev's wanted to put as much options in as possible. Not going to join the discussion whether it's good or not, I'll reserve judgement until I have the game in my hands and try out a femDwarf^^
I am however positively psyched about the fact that one can find chapter to Varric's books. I'm a codex-reader, I've read through all the codex entires that one got in DAO and DA2 (also the ones in Mass Effect, but thats neither here nor there^^) but I've always been somewhat disappointed that I never could read anything from Varric^^ I'm happy that we finally get the chance, apparently ![]()
I hope your ankle is better today, Chernaya. I know how painful those can be^^ And Yinello, hope your phone is fixed soon, I'd be completely freaked if I dropped my cell-phone, the thing is brand-new *gg*
*gives thread a wave* And good morning to the rest of y'all^^

It's absolutely ok to not want to use it, I don't want to use it myself. But it's there if someone does want to use it for whatever reason.

Guilt is a powerful thing.
I think he'll be more angry and bitter in this game. Due to the fact that he's in a incredibly stressful spot that he got dragged into. I'm sure he'll still be mostly light. But he may get upset if we make more evil decisions. (Cole is likely to just murder us...)

That would be hilarious. I know it won't happen. But it'd be awesome if they commented on having facial hair on a female dwarf. Would make it worth playing through with a beard. ![]()

So I started reading up on Solas since I haven't kept up with him at all really. And I was so absolutely fascinated that I've decided to rework my first playthrough to romance him...
So I guess I'm a Solassian now ![]()

I literally said it was gnarly.
Perhaps you shouldn't assume some ultimate meaning in one word.

Then you went on saying how every culture share your view on it and how shaving exist in the setting... Maybe you should learn how to communicate in a way that reduce the risk of someone misinterpreting you? If I did misunderstand you, then I'm sorry. But going by what you wrote, I don't think that's the case.
Edit: this has gone on too long and is way OT. I'm not going to respond to this discussion anymore. It will only derail the thread.

Every culture I am aware shares that stigma for female facial hair.
Perhaps the only one misinterpreting anything is you.
Because it's never said anywhere that it was anything beyond my opinion.

I really would like to know more about that red lyrium. Maybe as an ex-Carta you get to interrogate other Carta about it.
