Oh, I forgot! I was going to say, I had a weird bit of DA-related TV viewing the other day. An episode of CSI Original Recipe that not only guess-starred Brandon Keener, voice of Garrus, but also Steve Valentine, voice of Alistair! And a few weeks previously, there was an ep with Greg Ellis of Cullen-y fame!

I've got to say, hearing the almost-but-not-quite-voice of Garrus coming out of a human face was very weird.



Anyway, to return to a previous topic: what's everyone's experiences of archer rogues in the previous games? I've never played a protagonist archer, and it's not quite the same with companions.

I enjoyed playing an archer in DAO on a console so I can only suspect that I'll like it just as much in DAI. Which makes me wonder if I should make a elf an archer now....

DAO archer was sort of fun with the add on Awakening.

I have learned this strange magic. But seriously, every time I post the loading circle just goes on and on and on... wassup with this place lately? *pokes it* ...*kicks it* That usually fixes stuff, in my experience.

 

I never tried DA2 archer myself, but it looks better than how it was in DAO (for me, at least). could you use enchantments on bows though?

Archery is one of those things that I prefer real time combat for as opposed to the pause and play style of Dragon Age. It's the same thing for Sword and Shield gameplay. My favorite class in Dragon's Dogma was the Magic Knight with it's massive shield but you couldn't pay me to equip a shield in Origins. 

However I'm never without an archer or a sword and board warrior in Dragon Age. Alistiar and Leliana were constants in my group in Origins while Varric and Aveline never left my team in DA2.

I like when my swords/daggers are glowy from enchantments.   But I also like being in the fray usually, which is why I haven't played many mages before... until now. I might make an archer for DAI eventually though ~ maybe my elven inquisitor. but then I feel like I'd be stealing Sera's job. hmm.

Oh I know what you mean. I loved my DW Warden with his fire sword and frozen dagger... I hated when I had to turn down the graphics and miss those effects xD But archery is a different kind of fun. And don't worry about Sera - I'm sure she'll have fun with daggers as well.

So I don't know how this happened (yes I do) but I am suddenly in love with Varric. I think some of the recent DAI gameplay with him in it has peaked my interest. I know he's not a romance. But oh man.... 

 

It's the chest hair, no one can resist the chest hair!

 

But seriously, he's bound to be great in Inquisition. Even though he's an old character there's so much potential for interesting stuff they can do with him. Red lyrium, lost loves, Carta and Merchant's guild connections, PTSD after Kirkwall etc.

Yes them too. I may not like them, buuut they are badass none the less. Leske and Train too

The Grand Cleric reminds me of my mother. A really tall version of Mother. With a nicer hat.

Could we keep the Exalted Marching to a minimum? I keep all my stuff in Kirkwall.

My Skyrim kitteh is a sneaky archer type, a wandering treasure hunter and thief... hmm... sounds familiar....?

My archer is a khajiit, too! and just like that. xD

My archer in Skyrim is a Khajiit thief as well.
