Yeesh, that teaser trailer is not kind to Varric AT ALL.
Abomination!

I don't think that trailer was in engine so I'm not going to freak out yet xD but yeah, he looked kind of weird...
This is like the paper one on my fridge except the dragon is on the 21st space, got that weekend off and my no class week/study week starts on the 24th so I'll have some limited spare time to immerse myself in the game.
I wonder if Varric is a traitor!? ![]()
I wonder if schmooples is a traitor too.
Out of everyone I doubt Varric would be the traitor, but I guess we'll find out soon. ![]()
I don't think it's necessarily a matter of who "the" traitor is. Just like the past three (DA:O, DA:A, DA2) games, I imagine it's a matter of what you do, rather than someone predetermined. Personally, out of all of the companions I think Varric is the least likely to turn on the Inquisitor. At least if you didn't let him keep the shard.

Unless his betrayal is that he tell all of the Inquisitors dirty little secrets to Hawke when the two of them are drunk at their reunion party!
Varric: "Hey Hawke! Guess who's been borrowing romance novels from the Seeker?"

ahaha yes that's the kinda betrayal I can see going on with Varric!

Yeah I agree. I do expect him to act differently this time around and be a bit more hardened taking less BS from people, so it's always possible he might strongly disagree and not cooperate. I can see it happening for particularly cruel and aggressive choices.

Bioware please don't make shoot Varric with Bianca. I already had to back stab my Awakening buddy. I am going to shave the chest hair.
Varric the traitor D: ... hmmm ... if his chest hair better be some sort of rare crafting material I can use on bianca to allow me to use it and turn it into an elder one destroying weapon of mass destruction :3

I don't know, but I hear it makes for a fun throw rug. ![]()
So lovely people of this delightful thread I am sorry to ask something that is not related to this interesting Varric talk of him maybe being a traitor (which I'm going to go back over to read because that has my attention now). The question I wished to ask was would it be unreasonable to steal my copy from DAI from an old woman holding it hostage who changed her mind about it being a late birthday present and instead wants to make me wait until Christmas to have this hopefully delightful game in my DA hungry mitts?

Oh, noes! What a terrible fate you've been pushed into! I'd say, considering that Christmas is still ridiculously far off and we'd likely all be talking about the game and you'd get spoilered to oblivion.... I'd say it's a fair thing to liberate the game^^ You know, just ninja-stealth in, distract the opposing force for a moment, grab the game and ninja-stealth back out... Then laugh maniacally all the way home...
Or just try the puppy-look... Pull the saddest puppy-eyes you've ever pulled (think of Fenris and how he does it *gg*) and maybe, just maybe, it'll work *lol*

Nope it's not unreasonable, anything or anyone that keeps DAI from you is not allowed. So feel free to steal away or do the old switcheroo like I did, once she's out open the box and switch game discs for one you don't play anymore e.g.(DAI for Thief). The problem is you will eventually get caught but by that time you've been playing the game for a good few weeks and she's been none the wiser.
Hehehehe well I feel less bad about that eventual theft then, the switcheroo is my most likely course of option if begging fails. Good thing about the switcheroo I might not get caught since she rarely checks in the case but she might notice that plastic missing. Hmmm oh well any trouble I may get into for it will be completely worth it. I doubt I could handle waiting another month for DAI anyway, my hands would shake too much like a mouse with an extreme sugar high.
I would totally do anything to get my hands on that game. I usually just say they don't have to give me anything on Xmas day itself.

That sadly does not work on her because she claims it makes her feel bad. I have suggested taking it the night before and wrapping it up as a present but she wasn't thrilled with that idea either.
I just know I'm not waiting that long to get that game no way I'll go crazy knowing its in the house and I can't play it yet.

Yeah then I'd just go with the old switcheroo. Put in your Dragon Age Origins or 2 CD (if you happen to have one) in it. As for plastic, you can use wrapping plastic or sandwich bags (if they're clear enough) and glue. ![]()

Mine says the same thing but can be easily bribed with a couple of boxes of her favourite chocolates and a couple of bunches of white lilies(fave flower) and driving older relations about for a week.

“So, who was your favourite character in what you played?” *wait for translation, instant reply* “Varric-San!”
Japan loves Varric ![]()
Gaaah I wanna see specialisations *whines like a baby*
Dropping the new shots here.

He looks very tan to me, not that I have an issue with it. Though I suppose it wouldn't be surprising. It was mentioned he didn't like to leave the city. And the looming building might dull some of the sunlight.
