Every bit of Varric we see makes me want to sob that we can't romance him.  We better be able to be epic bro's like Varric and Hawke were in DA2.

 

...though I have to admit, I am worried about how Varric may have changed from DA2 to DA:I.  Several reviews say he has

I wonder if it depends on if you gave him the shard or not if he is more or less humorous.

I think that would have a big impact. But I wouldn't worry too much about those comments - maybe the reviewers wanted a full time joker or an exact repeat of how he behaved in DA2. Or maybe it was because of choices they made or the fact he starts in a party with Cass so they might have not liked their interaction and dropped him. Other reviewers praised his humor in other party combos.

I think or want to believe that characters change in their demeanor depending on how you treat them.

 

Which is what the IGN pre-review video seemed to suggest.

Just watched the Varric-trailer... I totally loved it! Man, I seriously can't wait... I guess I need to go and game some other genre, just to make the wait more bearable... And I agree, his eye-colour did look somewhat different, but that could also have been the weird greenish lighting when he stepped out of the tavern...

 

That aside, I also liked the trailers for Vivienne and IB^^ I have a feeling I'll drag that Qunari all over the place, so that he and Varric can snark together *lol*

If you let Varric keep the red lyrium he will eventually get insane, you either have to:

 

-Kill him or

-Allow the Bianca demon to use Varrics corpse, so you have a walking varric corpse as a party member. The other inquisition members will be majorly pissed off with you for doing this.

Its not about that but you post all these spoilers without saying where you got this information from. Almost all spoilers we have seen so far there has been image and video proof.

That would most likely only be true if you tag a specific choice in the Keep.

I am so happy I never let him keep the damn thing! Dodged a bullet there. But tbh, it was kind of obvious that allowing him to keep the shard was a bad idea. What did people expect?
