Well, now I feel lazy^^ I haven't even reached the 10 hour mark yet *gg* But don't blame me, blame my hardware *lol* The blasted PS3 of mine can't handle more than an hour or two of gameplay before it decides to go into meltdown and needs to cool down for five hours or so^^ So I haven't had that much opportunity to game^^ I'm still in the Hinterlands *sniff* Trying to find Blackwall, who's supposedly somewhere out there *rofl* I'll find him^^

 

And on another note: I agree with Ynqve, the Quizzies of you guys look amazing! *jealous* And congrats Ynqve, for finishing the game^^

Judging by the "post your Inquisitor" thread there's a perhaps understandable limit to how much you can change a character's appearance within the race.  I don't think you can easily (if at all) make an elf or a qunari (or a dwarf?) look like a human - with all the variances seen in that thread, elves/qunari/dwarfs always look like elves/qunari/dwarfs.  It seems likely, then, that trying to, oh, say, model a qunari Inquisitor on a human actress may be either doomed to failure or just very, very difficult.

 

Someone managed to make a "Daenerys" Trevelyan, though, which suggests it's easier to do it for human characters.

I kind of wanted to put a dagger through her face when she threatened to make me eat my own eyeballs if I 'let something happen' to Varric. And I like making everyone happy typically, but undeserved threats really rub me the wrong way. Why couldn't she be more like Dagna? I feel like we've been jilted from a Varric romance by the big B.

I would've left the Hinterlands yesterday to get to Val Royeux, but alas... my game crashed and my save was corrupted... Had to delete the entire char and start over... I nearly cried, I had already discovered so much in the Hinterlands :-(

Yep. The very least I wanted after being denied a Varric romance was for Bianca to be this amazing character worthy of him, but it.. wasn't even close. Meet Bianca! She's a passive aggressive liar who makes stupid decisions! Oh, but she's also like really smart or something so it's all good, just forget about how she left threatening you for no reason.

Even though I JUST met her, I took an immediate dislike to her. I Should have been the one to romance Varric, not some cheating little dwarf ******. Ok I need to go read some Hawke/Varric fanfic to make me feel better.

Most annoying glitch is sometimes everything will completely pause mid-dialogue. That, and sometimes the wheel you pull up for potions, ect doesn't work. but those are easy fixes. I wish you luck on your new playthrough.

Those I've had as well, I guess that's to be expected on a new release^^ I admit, some of those glitches are even funny to a degree^^ And thanks, like I said, we'll see how it turns out^^ My friend is gaming on a PS4 as well and she hasn't had any significant glitches or bugs yet either *gg*

I guess that's something. Laura Bailey is about the only nice thing about her. I'm just so disappointed by the whole thing. If you're going to build her up like that for two games by having him refuse to talk about her at all then I expect more than just "Oh we're pen pals but she's married so it can never happen. Also the merchants guild placed a restraining order on me and her family hates me. lol".

So, I finished the game at 60 hours ! (I got lazy and just ran through the last three missions.) Giving some thoughts. Obvious spoilers.

So, where to even begin ? Most of are companions aren't as cut and dry as they seem. Blackwall is a murderer. Solas is the Dread Wolf. Cass is a closet romantic. Cullen struggles with lyrium addiction. They alll turned out to be so very interesting. But I loved Dorian most of all. So much charm and wit. All to hide the obvious sadness. He's by far my favorite companion.

 

Now, here's a surprise. Outside of Dorian. My favorite character was Cullen. Now, going into this game I certainly wasn't a Cullen fan. I didn't hate him. But I could never empathize with his bitterness towards mages. But this game really made me feel for him. He's trying so hard to be a better man. It's so sad. 

 

Blackwall broke my heart. My noble Grey Warden turned out to be a murderer. I decided to give him to the Wardens. I think he liked that honestly. He deserves a chance to redeem himself....but after that I don't think I'll be doing his romance anytime soon.

 

I actually didn't even recruit Viv. She gave my Quizzy really bad vibes. So he told her he wasn't interested. Just gives me another reason to do a second playthrough.

 

As for characters I didn't like. Sera and I didn't get along at all. I actually don't mind her character. But she's so short sighted and it really started to grate on my nerves. 

 

Varric kind of pissed me off. I mean, I still love him. But god his arc in this game pissed me off. Why the hell is he pining after this chick ? She's horrible ! This makes me even more sad that we didn't get a Varricmance. It would've fit so well. And actually given his character some CLOSURE. Which Bioware has apparently decided he doesn't need. 

 

As for the main story...I'm honestly a bit disappointed. The highlight is the Corypheus reveal and from there it's all down hill. The Temple of Mythal mission was really good. But the last two missions felt really rushed. That was the worst finale I've seen to a Bioware game. No build up. Just....here he is. Kick his ass. 

 

I think they could of done more with the Orlesian questline. Like actually have us pick a side and support the war than spend 3 hours in a ball. Though the ball was actually a nice change of pace. I just think they dropped the ball there. (No pun intended)

 

The grey warden questline was good. Though for me glitches kind of bogged it down. I had to skip through several cutscenes because it kept locking up. It was cool to see Loghain again. He got a worthy death. Interested to see it with a Warden Alistair. Though that'll make my decision even harder.

 

So, overall. Good game, not Biowares best. But I still had a great time and it's still my GOTY. Looking forward to seeing what DLC they come up with. They certainly left it open for more.

I agree that the ending felt short. I honestly didn't get that it was over until the credits rolled because I expected a longer mission. But aside from that, I really enjoyed the main story. And say what you want about the ending, I'm going to pick this one over DA2 and ME3 every time! At least we finished the story on a somewhat satisfactory note (Cory's dead, the world is (sort of) safe, the Inquisitor is the biggest BAMF in Thedas). But I'm looking forward to story DLC and the next game! And I agree, as much as I'm going to miss him Loghain went out like a champ. That being said, I'm never ever going to import a Warden Alistair. I refuse to make that decision. 

 

As for the characters: I actually liked Blackwall's romance (and I made him a Warden). But it's not for everyone, the "I'm not worthy of you" shtick gave me Anders flashbacks. And his sex scene was horrible! He leaves you lying naked in the hay with only a note apologizing and saying that you'll never see him again (lol, I've got the worlds best spymaster. You're not going to get away from me that easy!) I got along fine with everyone but Vivienne. Don't get me wrong, I think she's a great character. I just really don't like her personality. I think she's a power hungry hypocrite and her snobbery doesn't fly with me at all. But it was fun trolling her about the circle. She really didn't like my Inquisitor after I decided to ally with Fiona. I can't agree more about Varric. I just sat there going wtf? This is it? 

 

Also: Leliana is now one of my favorite characters in the series. All hail Divine Victoria!
