I'm hoping he'll be in DA4 as Josephine's successor or some such. Maybe then.

There are too many hurdles in the lore to go over to make this a possibility. An example being that you and your companions would contract the Blight by just being with him.
There was a theory I read, maybe on one of the forums, that said that Armaas seems to suggest they can "withhold" infection. He's the tal-vashoth met in the siverite mine in Awakening, and when asked if he's afraid of catching it, he says he's been promised protection and question them would be inadvisable.
Then there was the item Duncan had in The Calling.
Of course, the messenger spreads it to those he helps.
On the note of the messenger, when everyone's hold up resting in the chantry, where's he at? What's he doing? They haven't executed him, did they make him wait outside under guard? I was hoping he'd be standing in a corner with people commenting on a darkspawn in the chantry...
Is it bad though? Sure, it was a family chosen guy - but she seems fine with it (the Wiki says she is unhappy, but she laughs about him off selling her creations and doesn't act that sad about the relationship) and seriously - I'm not sure I feel bad enough for her to help her out. She laughs off the idea that her family wants to kill Varric - and they do try and kill him. I just feel bad about the whole situation for Varric. It seems like Bianca gets the best of both - her family's approval/a husband, and Varric when she wants him. I'd rather a happy ending for Varric, and them remaining friends. It seems a bit mean to leave a guy pining after you for at least 7 years.
I guess it's not really clear if it's bad but I'd still like to push Varric either one way or the other. This limbo is not good for anyone.

Agreed, and I think that is why I am ending up with such a negative view towards Bianca, though I guess Varric isn't letting himself let go either - especially giving the other Bianca such personality and affection. It ends up rather sad on his part.
well, if you left hawke in the fade he has trouble coping.... he even says the leliana is a better spymaster because he tends to form attachments to people... he just has trouble letting go. His character is the clown, always wearing a smile but crying underneath the mask. Feel bad for him, but thats what makes him such a great character.
BTW, got some funny banter today btwn him and dorian.
Dorian: Varric, while we were in halamshiral, did you by chance meet the empress's hand maidens?
Varric: The triplets who could finish each others sentences, yeah why?
Dorian: They kept asking me questions about you.
Varric: This should be good
Dorian: Something about chest hair and if you're seeing anyone.
I laughed so hard.
Got another one wandering the hissing wastes with him and dorian.
Varric: Does any of this make sense to you Sparkles?
Dorian: Im guessing its because im tevinter... and which thing are we talking about? The giant hole in the sky or the crazy ancient mage trying to become a god?
Varric: Take your pick
Dorian: Its not surprising really, many annoying people aspire to become kings
Varric: So corypheus is the drunk we cant get to leave the party by asking politely?
Dorian: He even made a hole in the roof, how dreadfully common.
Hi everyone! (I'm still avoiding the internet for spoilers but I thought i'd pop in...
In regards to Varric and Bianca
on another note, the Fade mission...
My first import world was with Alistair as king. He broke up with my Warden who then fell in with Zevran (in a very delightful manner), and my FemHawke romanced Fenris. Loghain was also alive- I decided to sacrifice Loghain instead of Hawke because I want Hawke and Fenris to have a happy ending, and Loghain would have been executed like 10 years ago anyway without the Wardens. He had a good run. 10 extra years is nothing to scoff at.
But then I had made a Keep file in which Alistair stayed with the Wardens, and an MHawke romanced Isabela (I never actually did that in DA2, but I decided Keep was a good way to shake things up). I think in that game, I'll let Alistair live and Hawke die. I never really liked Isabela anyway...

WAIT. Loghain can come??? Dude. That's an easy decision! haha
Loghain never survives my games so... my warden!Alistair file will be fun fun fun. The only real reason I want to do it is because his cameo is soooo much better than king!Alistair. Like what the heck, we could have at least chatted a bit couldn't we? grr. lol
So I'm sure its been talked a bit about already but damn do I feel bad for Varric being 'the other guy'. I mean that's exactly what I was hoping wasn't happening to the poor man. He's still hung up on her and she's kind of moved on and imo using him somewhat I don't like that he gets that fate its sad, and I'm very sure my Hawke would of had very strong words for this Bianca maybe a spur of the moment stabbing too since 80% of them are crazy. Just feels wrong to leave him pining over a woman who wants it all so to speak and is happy having him be the other guy, also feels a bit mean to his fans to do that to him as well imo of course.
The more I play DA:I, the more I want to sigh and shake my head at Varric. In the Fade, there is a little graveyard with gravestones for all the companions and advisors. It has their fears on the headstones. Varric's is: Being like his parents.
My theory is that is parents hated each other and were miserable. Maybe Varric wants to stay with Bianca because he believes the love he has is better than not having love at all. Which is stupid. And I think a part of him knows that, but isn't willing to let it go. Denial is not just a river in Egypt.

Hey, Loghain is a freaking badass in this game! I felt terrible when I sacrificed him. But yeah, that was an easy decision.
Hey, he got to live like 10 whole years more than I ever let him! Not too bad. xD Although I'm curious about how old he must have to look considering how old he looked in DAO. Hmm... I'll have to youtube it.

I'm upset I skipped over that graveyard. Woulda been cool to read everyone's fears haha

I thought he looked surprisingly healthy for a tainted man of his age xD
