Sorry sorry skipped over some as soon as I read this but you can hug Varric without him getting ticked off? I had heard that Varric reacts poorly to the hug so I never tired it the one time I got the option to do it.

No worries, he doesn't. You even get slight approval. ![]()

Awesome well next time I get that choice I'll go for the hug, though I may have to reroll that state with a dwarf to make it less awkward ![]()
Thanks for the info.

Guuuuuuys I'm really really said because my qunari save intended to romance Dorian has the Dorian bug and I'm just sad now : (((

I feel your pain Dorian's been bugging on me a lot lately now I don't even get approval from him or his 'One Less Venatori' quest. Those Dorian bugs need to be fixed ASAP

If I do Cullen, then I'll side with the templars which is new and could be fun. Or go with solas and get lore-y content eventually?

Guys, Should I play my Cullen romance? Or Solas?

I'd do Solas! But I'm biased, I'm all about baldy and the beard in this game.

I'd say Cullen but solely for siding with the Templars I love that quest to pieces~ So much fun imo with where you end up going in that quest. But I am very bias loving the Templar quest and not liking the Solas romance all that much.

I prefer Cullen's romance. Though I prefer his romance with a mage-leaning character. I like Solas' too, but it's too short in my opinion.

Lol well I've done 2 characters that were mage leaning ... But I said my 3rd playthrough was gonna be solas... How is it short? Is it because
Spoiler
If I recall correctly he has three scenes two very close to each other then a long dry spell until the last one.

Yeah, Solas only has like 3 scenes. But they are so good! The last one is pure perfection. Quality over quantity folks.

Not to start a fight or anything but I disagree with that, the last one I find very amazing gets me rushing with emotion every time I see it but the other two I feel eh at most with them but just my opinion tastes differences and what what.

Nah, it's ok. I'm very much meh when it comes to Cullen. It's too damn sweet for my tastes. I guess Cullen is my Fenris 2.0 where everyone else seems to be swooning and I'm just not feeling it. I get why people like him, but it's not for me.

I haven't completed any romances yet aside from The Iron Bull and Solas but I had heard that Cullen's romance was overly sweet like how Josephine's is overly cheesy, still going to take a crack at it eventually myself since I don't feel I can give my two bits on something I haven't experienced first hand. As silly as it sounds if Solas's scenes had been spaced out better I may have liked the romance a bit more but as is to me it least it feels like too long of a wait for too little of a payoff (aside from that last scene which I still find just Wow.)

I agree with that. I would have liked one or two extra scenes in the middle, just something short and fluffy. It doesn't have to be something major. Hell, I would have been content if I just got to kiss him like I could with Blackwall. I was so frustrated when I didn't get any scene or conversation with him after completing act 2.

I feel like I just can't enjoy the overly sweet vanilla romances as much anymore. I loved Alistair, so I dunno why. I guess I feel like once I've done one, I've done them all maybe, and now I prefer something more mysterious or dramatic or fun. xD Sooo... I love Cullen, but my file for him is moving quite slowly right now.

I keep reading people say Cullen's romance is overly sweet and I wonder what happened because I just don't see it. Josie's, yeah, definitely overly sweet, but I don't see how Cullen falls into that, and I'm often accused of being allergic to sweet and romantic.
It's overly sweet when you compare it to the angsty drama that is Blackwall and Solas! I mean, what's the biggest obstacle to Cullen and the Inquisitor? His lyrium addiction that he overcomes with some light encouragement and the fact that he's maybe a bit uncomfortable around mages?

So, Hawke. He's quite a changed man, isn't he? I tried to like the beard...

...but I really just couldn't.

I figure he's trying to disguise himself a bit.... which he could probably do better by not wearing that distinctive armour!
Varric and Cassandra... making peace is going to be tricky. If not impossible.
In other news, amusing expressions of amusement.

Ah, that's it then. I don't see lack of major drama as overly sweet. In fact, I like that his romance has all kinds of moments - serious, funny, romantic, friendly, passionate, while most of the others tend to one tone. It seems like a pretty balanced partnership. I see both Josie and Cass as sweeter romances... And many romances don't have big obstacles: Sera, Cass, Bull, Dorian. Cullen's at least can lead to a break-up or unknown future consequences.
