Ah, that's it then. I don't see lack of major drama as overly sweet. In fact, I like that his romance has all kinds of moments - serious, funny, romantic, friendly, passionate, while most of the others tend to one tone. It seems like a pretty balanced partnership. I see both Josie and Cass as sweeter romances... And many romances don't have big obstacles: Sera, Cass, Bull, Dorian. Cullen's at least can lead to a break-up or unknown future consequences.

 

I think they made a good call when they added Cullen as a saner, "easier" option. I like the fact that he's very different from Blackwall and Solas. While I personally prefer the chaos of Blackwall's drama or Solas' heartbreak, I'm glad that there's a less angsty option with a happy ending for people who want that. Not sure I agree with you on some of the other romances. Sera's world view is a big obstacle if you don't share it, Cass may end up dumping you and some people are very uncomfortable with both the BDSM and the Qun elements of Bull's romance. 

 

But over all, I think they did a good job of providing us with very different romance options. There should be at least one option for everyone (if you're willing to play as an Inquisitor of either race, sexuality or gender, if you're limiting yourself to only playing straight female dwarfs who's into elves then that's on you).

Nessy's personality definitely works better for Cullen than for Solas, in my opinion.

 

About the templar route, do remember doing that mission doesn't necessarily mean allying with them, so you can make it work for a lot more characters than it seems at first.

So, I made yet another character to play since the patch. This one doesn't have the banter bug so I'm keeping it. Went with a female qunari mage. Took me forever to make a qunari I like but I've finally achieved it. She's romancing Sera. And I'll take back some of the things I've said about her. She's likeable enough if you try to understand her. We still disagree about magic. But she hasn't made to much of a fuss about it.

 

Anyway, here's Keelah Adaar.

 

 

 

 

Oh, and put Sera and Blackwall in your party. Best banter in the game by far. I'll give you an example.

I'm still mad my qunari can't romance Cullen.  He doesn't even give a reason, like, "Your horns scare me," he just brushes her off.   

 

Similar with Solas.  It makes sense, but if Mythal's chosen can be human, why can't Fen'Haral's be a qunari? Or a dwarf?

She's very pretty!

 

And yes! Blackwall and Sera are great together, I love their relationship. Add Bull to the party and you'll be having a blast, it's like a big vulgar family!

They're so awesome together.

 

I really feel bad for people who have the banter bug. Blackwall would come off as pretty dull if you just talk to him at skyhold. But he's actually got a good sense of humor. Plus he and Sera have a cute friendship. 

 

I bring Bull too. His banters with Sera are good. His banters with Blackwall are a little dull, but there was one about metals that was great.

You know...it didn't occur to me until after I beat it, but that thing going on in Last Flight, where the girl's doing archiving on how long something or someone has been manipulating the wardens?  I think that's still going on.  Why else would Weisshaupt go lights off and nobody's home?

Honestly, if you flirt with her she'll let you get away with some things. My thoughts on magic don't bother her too much. I sided with the noble and then told her I was sorry I upset her and got all the approval I lost back. So basically if she's into you she'll give you a pass on being a dick at times. Which really fits her character.

haha that metals banter was the first I had between IB/Blackwall. I lol'd. and then I went to go make him a pretty pink weapon. 

 

Sometimes I feel like the banter bug is solved and other times it feels like it's suddenly back. I get banter in bursts and then dry spells, it's weird. But still getting more than I did in my first file at least.

Some advice on making a good female qunari ? Pick head 3 (The one with the brownish red hair.) And then mess with the face shape until the proportions seem more normal. Then just play around with the various parts and you should come up with something good. Took me a few tries though, so don't be afraid to restart if she doesn't look the way you want. It's easy to make makeup to thick on Qunari's too. So watch that.

Yeah. Unless you're Dalish. But I meant more about how her romance and personality at first seemed like they wouldn't fit any of my characters, but now I can see some pretty cool RP possibilities, both for a serious qunari and a dwarf that is a lot more like her.

Yeah, I made my Qunari more of a sarcastic, clever type. Which made her like me quite a bit. Though I'm still willing to get my hands dirty to help the inquisition. Which kind of pisses her off.

I was wondering what the hell the point of Last Flight was if they never mention any of the events in it.  Is that going to tie into a DLC ? Or maybe the next game ? 

I haven't read it, but someone on the thread who spoiled it said that it's been going on for a long time.  Which suggests longer than the ten years, max, Hawke had let Cory run amok.

 

My theory is that DA4 or 5 will be more darkspawn-centric, bring back the Architect or at least Seranni in his stead, and we'll deal with whatever is going with the wardens then.
