Yeah, gotta say that does put a hurting on my desire to romance him. Dx reminds me of good old times kinging Alistair with an elven warden... *sniffles*

 

*hugs* That never happened to me, fortunately. When I played the Alistair romance the first time, I already knew I had to harden him to make him King. I'd certainly have reloaded otherwise.

Just do what I did. Get Zevran's approval up to the point where he'd say he loves you if you speak to him, but avoid speaking to him until after Alistair breaks up with you. Then Zevran can comfort your Warden.

 

I played it out in my mind like this- my human mage, Solona or "Lonnie" as they called her, was interested in Zevran first because he was super debonair and had that bad-boy swagger type thing, but she avoided getting involved with him because she wasn't capable of sleeping with someone without having feelings for them. So for her, going with Zevran would just lead to heartbreak. So then Alistair starts liking her and she falls for him because he's pretty much a perfect romance. Meanwhile, Zevran is in the back slowly falling in love with Lonnie, but doesn't say anything until after the Landsmeet when Alistair becomes king and breaks up with Lonnie, which she knew he would do, but she's miserable over it. Then Zevran comes and comforts her and they end up admitting their feelings for each other on That Night in Redcliffe castle. They've been together ever since.

 

Except for that time in Antiva when there was that giant mess with the Crows tricking Zev into thinking that Lonnie was dead and Lonnie into thinking that Zev was being held captive somewhere, but that's another story.

 

ANYWAY, my point is, just have Zev waiting in the wings. Plus, Morrigan mentions both guys when trying to convince you to do the ritual, which is cool.

But I did do multiple reloads and googling in DA2 because I couldn't get Fenris to accept my PC's fling with Isabela. Game, you tried sooo hard but you did not make me deny Isabela - where there's a will there's a way.

I know!!! and I'm super upset that I've had 2 playthroughs without it, because the game really does seem to nudge you to doing Adamant before the Winter Palace. Heck, I never even noticed Alistair/Loghain/Stroud stays at Skyhold for a bit.

I plan to do the ball first with my playthroughs that have Alistair as a Warden and my Warden who romanced Morrigan.

Alright guys, out of curiosity. Favorite DA:I companion and least favorite ?

 

My fav is Blackwall, he's a mainstay in my party across all playthroughs. I've loved him since he was first announced and he has probably my favorite storyline of all the DA:I companions.

 

Least favorite would be Viv. She's a power hungry ****** and I'm not a fan of the way she treats my companions.

My favorite is definitely Dorian. And the correct terms for how I feel about Vivienne would be most disliked.

 

I'm actually trying to figure out roleplay reasons not to recruit her in most of my games, since it seems we can't tell her to leave and she might ninja you even if you ignore her. And I'm someone who only skips companions once or twice to try it, with characters that really compel me to.

Oooh yay question time!

 

My favorite would probably be Bull, he just knows how to have fun, he's sweet, plus he's smart, and I love that he breaks the stereotype of macho guys being stupid. Cole is close behind though, I find him fascinating and the result of how I initially did his personal quest heartwarming.

 

I suppose... Vivienne would be my least favorite, after learning about her final cutscene I never saw. I actually thought she might have a heart after that personal quest but that was ruined for me after later revelations. xD

 

Out of all the DA games so far though, this cast has been my favorite in general. There were quite a few characters I disliked or felt indifferent towards in DAO and DA2, but I like almost everyone in this game!

I love Dorian and Cole. Dagna and Harding were also two huge loves of mine. They're adorable and deadly. Perfect combination.

That being said, I loved all the companions except for Sera and Vivienne. Their personalities grated on me.

I gotta say though... as crappy as Viv's personality is, Knight Enchanter is a great class. XD; I may try not recruiting her one day but I'll probably try to be a KE in that file, because it's so helpful.

 

And heck yeah to Dagna and Harding! One thing I really, REALLY want next game is a female LI I can adore! PLEEEEASE. One of them would be peeeerfect!

Sera and Josie are cool though. Just not my types romantically. Less LI's than I expected actually interested me. But that's okay, because what's more important is that the characters were awesome. x3

I personally am hoping for a male dwarf to romance because, since I'm a straight female, I'm interested in male romances. I completely support lovely dwarf lady romances though. That would be adorable.

I personally am hoping for a male dwarf to romance because, since I'm a straight female, I'm interested in male romances. I completely support lovely dwarf lady romances though. That would be adorable.

 

Heck yeah and I support any kind of dwarfmance so I completely agree! Just have a soft spot for the femdwarves in particular for some reason...

Me too, I think. One romance completed that I love and a couple more I'm looking forward to. DAO only really had one I could get into, DA2 had 2. I am grateful we had so many different kinds of options in DAI. I think they really went all out on making them diverse, which I guess was good since there are so many.

On another note- I'm in the Fade fighting off all the spiders that have fears attached to them, demons, sickness, poverty, etc. But I just came across the best one. The name of this particular spider fear was "Ironically, spiders."

I was talking about your DAO and DA2 numbers though. 3/9 for you while I was at 6/9. For DAI I'm also predicting 4 out of 8 but jury is not out yet.

xD I read a tweet and apparently some of those are dev's fears.
