Branka may be ax crazy, but she's way cooler in just her introduction than Bianca is after the her entire quest. The "I am your Paragon" line is awesome. In a ****-my-pants-cause-things-got-real kinda way.

When I started hearing that poem every few steps, it was simultaneously terrified and delighted. 

 

I'm a big horror fan, novels and films and such, and that made me kind of giddy with how much it creeped me out. Weird maybe, but I'm alright with that.

Same here, I always love creepy stuff. When I stumbled into a haunted mansion in the Emerald Graves I was so happy lol

I haven't been to a haunted mansion in the Emerald graves!I ::ahem:: haven't finished the game. Maker, I was wondering where the staple haunted house was. I thought it had gone the way of the brothel (and I was considerably more sad about the former than I was the latter). I'll go look for it!

It's on the northeastern corner of the Emerald Graves, but be careful because that area has really high level 18-19 enemies! I found it to be a cool little side story though, and pretty eerie.

I was mostly just surprised and irritated by that casual little threat. I think it was there as a way to show how much she cares about him, but considering Varric is one of my most beloved characters, it managed to get under my skin...especially after I convinced Varric not to scold her. I can forgive her mistake...but I was actually liking her before that. We'd had this fun moment where we discussed being artificers, which just thrilled me at the time. 

 

Then I was interested in the plot surprises, and still enjoying myself. Then she makes that casual threat, and all the wind just gets sucked out of my sails. 

 

I know it was over-sensitive of me, but it just wasn't any fun. Also, really Bianca? I'm trying to save the world here...and you really want to suggest you'll hold me responsible for the possibility of something happening to Varric? It would have been different if she said something a little less irritating, like asking me to please take care of him. 

 

Yeah, while I liked Bianca, that moment kinda annoyed me a little as well.

 

I think the reason is because unlike Isabela when she threatens to mutilate Hawke if they ever harm Merrill, or Leliana's similar threat if the Inquisitor hurts Josephine, we'd not had enough time with Bianca to earn that level of comraderie with her, so that she can make a friendly warning to us and we can take it seriously but with good nature.

 

When you've not forged that level of connection with someone and make that threat... well, it's more akin to picking up your date and meeting their cool older sibling who cracks some lighthearted jokes with you about getting them home on time, only for you to drop your date back home at the end of the night, to find that same sibling sitting on the front porch with a shotgun and looking intently at their watch...

^ exactly! I was like... I just met you and within the hour you've threatened bodily harm on me for no real reason at all, okay thanks. I get she cares about Varric I suppose, but who is she to tell me that when I'm actually here looking out for him and she barely ever is?

Even more than that, they're making those threats over the possibility of you doing something to actually hurt the LI in question, which is a lot more rational than threatening you over the possibility of a character being killed while their fighting to save the world from an ancient Magister and a demon army, especially if you would happen to find the loss of said character heartbreaking herself (I know how you would take it means pish to Bianca, considering she's been in love with him forever and you've known him for...months? But still, thanks a lot!). Anyway, I don't mean to make too big a deal over one little line of dialogue, but it did suck some fun away from my experience.

Dude, I literally said "oh please I don't want to die" when that poem started! It scared the bejesus out of me

So there was drinking, and Isileth met the Chargers.  Fun bunch.  Dalish has the most unexpected voice ever, though.

 

Drinking leads to that inevitable image, though, that everyone has.

 

 

But at least I got to find out what one of those memorable phrases from the game's rating report was about.

 

 

Someday I'm sure I'll find out what all the fuss about Bianca is, uh, about.

Hehe. I always think Bull looks so darn cute in that screencap, but the poor Quizzy looks so... erm... gone. XD You'd think a Qunari Inquisitor would be able to hold the Qunari liquor, though I can understand it for the other races. I'm just glad my poor dwarf lived through that scene... that Thedas equivalent of moonshine had to be close to alcohol poisoning to someone of her size. XD

But I wouldn't expect the next one for at LEAST 3 more years. And heck if we want the same quality or better (as compared to DAI) it'll be more like... 5?
