About Curly, Cullen's hair was really curly in DA2. It was probably still that way when they traveled together out of Kirkwall, so he might have got the nickname then. Given that he admits in banter that he styles his hair now, Varric might be reminding him of a look Cullen isn't fond of remembering.

I like buttercups, my sisters used to tell me if you put it under your chin and it made your chin yellow you ate too much butter X)
Also, there's some irony with calling Sera buttercup. Merrill was definitely a daisy, but Sera is not a delicate little flower.

I really loathe the 'friend-zone' concept but I'll entertain it for this question lol. I'm putting this in spoilers though, as I believe we have posters in here who haven't gotten to Bianca yet.

They are mutual lovers, but rarely get to see eachother. On top of that, Bianca is married to someone else, and her parents hate Varric because they don't think he's a good fit for her. As for the idiot thing, you won't get much of an argument from me there. I know they tried really hard to push that she was smart, but anyone who gives the location of a thaig full of weird red lyrium to a random 'mage' they don't even know is kinda dumb, imo.

He says they're not together, more like "together". Here in this video:

 

 

It's vague and people have interpreted different things. I took it to mean they met briefly a handful of times in the past 15 years, in which they probably had sex, but mostly they were pen pals for all that time. So I wouldn't call it a relationship or an affair but I'd say they're not just friends.

You can talk to Varric about her afterwards, and ask him "how long have you two been together?" So more or less I took that as meaning they were an item... or they think they're an item at least, but whatever they have doesn't seem very relationship-y to me. xD

I remember one of the devs saying that they have a 5 game plan, so there are at least plans for 2 more games.

But I wouldn't expect the next one for at LEAST 3 more years. And heck if we want the same quality or better (as compared to DAI) it'll be more like... 5?

Oh I definitely agree with you. For two people who are a 'couple' yet barely get to see each-other they seemed super casual about it. I know the situation was less than desirable but I would have expected at least some dialogue between them that hinted that they really cared for each-other... besides Bianca threatening to scoop out my eyeballs suddenly. "Hi! I'm Bianca, nice to meet you! I'm funny and cute, laugh with me. HURT HIM AND YOU'LL DIE PAINFULLY. bye!"  >_>

Probably. Varric's always struck me as pretty considerate. Maybe not if he really disliked a person (say, Sebastian) but otherwise probably yes.

I always took that more as it was his half assed attempt to give her one that she shot down and he told her to let him know when she came up with a better one. (If I recall correctly it started cause she wanted to know why he didn't give her one xD)

So I noticed a lot of Bianca hate in the thread and....I don't know, can someone politely explain it. I mean I thought the whole star crossed lovers/parents try to keep them apart thing was sort of cute, and the fact Varric still holds a candle for this woman after all these years when he could move on is also sort of cute...*please don't hurt me!*
I also didn't mind Bianca as a person. I mean wasn't to fond of her threatening my Inquisitor but at the same time I was like "You tell her Bianca!" to the screen. I don't like that she's married but in a world of marriage proposals equalling family reliances whatcha ya gonna do? Uh yeah that's all.
