That's me,
ing all over the place.
I've heard assassin archer is a good combo, Cher.
@Duelist: Which spec/weapon combos do you like best for rogues in DAI?

This has probably been asked a hundred times, but: in Skyhold, I asked Vivienne about my companions, and she said "So Varric was sent here to spy on us", or some such. I played through all Varric's quests(I think - Bianka, lyrium deposits), got the card game, and never in the game did he say anything about spying. Is it a bug, or did I miss something?
Ah OK, does his view on Red Lyrium change? I was really afraid to let Hawke give him that in the Keep, even if actually I always gave him the shards in real DA2 game...
THanks
No he still hates the thing and tells you how he is very careful with it. It's in special containment.
Rogue has actually been my staple class since DAO, I just happened to go mage my first time for this game which was a complete first. I'm really enjoying my rogue in my new file though... but I kinda wish I went with something else rather than tempest for my archer. I feel like tempest/archer doesn't go too well together.

Tempest is probably the most broken of all three rogue specs.
Aside from the Flask of Fire + Thousand Cuts exploit, Flask of Lightning turns you into a machine gun.
Flask of Frost sucks for an archer though but it's a good "Oh crap!" button and you can use it to squeeze another few seconds on your other flasks.
Yeah, as I play I think it can be even more deadly with a dual wielding rogue. xD; But thousand cuts is brutal... really brutal. I'm dying a lot less as a tempest than I was as a necromancer. xP Can't wait to try assassin though, tbh.

How is Necromancer?
I haven't heard anything good about it and Dorian spends as much time on the sideline as Bull.
Love em both but Bull dies too much and Solas is my preferred party mage.
It has some neat abilities but it's definitely not OP. Had fun with the challenge though, and enjoyed the neat spells. ![]()
Bull does die too much. :/ It sucks. I build up his guard with passives as much as I can but he's pretty much built to be a punching bag.
Off topic but has anyone else finished the Hobbit triology?
I haven't myself, but other were talking about it awhile back so I know some of us in here have!

Necromancer sounded like the troll spec to me and trolling enemies to death is always funny.
And that sucks about Bull. I was surprised by how much I ended up liking him but AI can't be trusted to play a Reaver.
Still...

Hah! I've never gotten that, as I romanced Bull. But that's a gem! I do love Bull. I take him with me all the time anyway and prepare for my potions to be drained. XD Sigh.
@Kath: Wow... he looks really good! ![]()

Oh. Did he drain your potions? Explore your Deep Roads? Establish his canon? Or did you satisfy a demand of his Qun?
(Sorry couldn't resist)
I wish I could like that more than once. XD Might have to quote it in my signature eventually.
The one thing I miss about Oghren...

Anyway, just my thoughts. Nice to meet you Varric thread. I live in the Solas thread but once in a while like to check on Varric, Iron Bull, and Sera (they amuse me). You guys seem very nice too, maybe I'll come over to have tea more often!
In honour of the series, got my sis to make a Richard Armitage dwarf and it turned out to look a bit like Dean O'Gorman XD
Whaaat? That wasn't Oghren, and I liked him well enough even though he wasn't a favourite of mine.
Aside from the potions thing, the rest were ripped off word for word from...
Spoiler
Oh, I know that xD Bela is my favorite. It just also reminded me of a very similar situation in Origins, the original situation I suppose, which was one of my favorite banters ever. The one thing I miss about Oghren, one of the many I miss about her...
Spoiler
But yes! Please come back anytime. Especially because I'm a shut in and really only post on he Varric thread. I like meeting new faces... Just not exploring the forums hahaha
I feel ya there.
When I'm feeling adventurous I post in the Sera or Bull thread. Everywhere else is scary.

Ah my dear Isabela, how I would've loved to have seen her again in all her frostbitten glory.
Still...

really?! I never got that banter... I'm suddenly hopeful. That makes me happy.
Even if it didn't turn into anything it's nice to hear that. But... I would really like it to.
I need her in my life again.
This. So much this.
The Sera thread was my original stomping ground because I like the people there although this one has been very welcoming.
That said, there was a dude that would start some really f***** up threads that were always worth a laugh like which Inquisition woman would look best in yoga pants or who was the best powerlifter.
Didn't last long though. Not sure if that's good or bad tbh.
Artichoke. Those were fun. XD I felt bad contributing to troll threads but... nah, I lied. I didn't feel bad. It was amusing.
edit: btw, Mother Giselle is the best power-lifter in Thedas.
