The Romance thread kinda scares me... Its like some sort of unruly beast. I ventured into one of the earlier incarnations of it and I was kind of overwhelmed.

You have to be very brave to go there, but having said that, I've been involved in some lovely conversations there too, it really just depends on the topic...right now it's kinda bad...

I really hope they'll reveal the rest of the romances this weekend. Not just for my own sake, but mostly because not knowing seems to put everyone on edge. It's time to close it and focus on something else (crafting, combat etc).
I know these forums don't dictate Bioware's marketing, but it must be annoying for the devs only to get romance questions all the time when they've made such a beautiful game.
I hope to wake up tomorrow with the remaining romances revealed

Haha, that's not too inaccurate. However, if it helps at all, Allan started the thread, so he keeps a close eye on it. Debates get heated, but rarely do actual fights break out.

I also think everyone would at this point. I'd rather know whether Varric and/or Solas are romancable before I get too excited and disappointed. Rather get my disappointment out of the way quickly than suffer like this

It's not spamming the thread by posting a few times on the same page. Otherwise, there is a lady or a gentlemen that posts here regularly that has done that. You're fine. 
As far as the romance thread goes, there is a few posters that are pretty upset about the potential of only 2 romance options. A couple of them are taking it way too personally at the moment and is just very upset. So, pretty much same sh*t, different day. As I said earlier, a lot of posters are assuming that rest of the LI reveals are going to happen at the GaymerX romance panel later on today, so some of them are feeling edgy.
Doesn't look like our hopes/fears will be answered this weekend. But perhaps us Varricmancers should go forth and twitter for information... lolTanya Worrell @ladyadara

'Bout what I expected. And that cagey answer kinda tells me that we'll be getting some more info over the next week. Whether or not it's information on the rest of the LIs and on Varric remains to be seen, but I'm pretty sure that the BW marketing team has another info dump planned before the end of the month.

A few are, yeah. The tweet that Oracle put up seems to suggest that the assumption was very wrong.

Actually, I don't understand why these forums have such a bad rep. There are some bad eggs, but for the most part I think people seem so nice and civil
Also too bad we won't find out about romances this weekend. Though I'm curious as to what the "writing a better romance" is about. Isn't it supposed to last 4 hours?
I wonder if we'll get any new info on the game, or if it's just talking about writing romances for games in general?
So, something I wanted to share with you guys. Last night, someone rolled up an alt account in order to send me a harassing PM. I'm not going into further details, but I wanted to tell you the steps I took to make sure the mod dealt with this person swiftly.
Before I continue, one thing I would recommend for the newcomers: Go to your profile, and edit it. There should be a way to set comments on your wall to where you have to approve of any comments.
Okay, this is what I did to get a swift mod response. Now, I can tell you right off the bat that your first temptation will be to delete the PM/comment. Don't. The mods will need it in order to track the harassment. Send your report.
Then, you'll probably be tempted to yell right back. Don't, because that will make things worse and possibly cast you in a bad light. Instead, what I did was simply send them the following message: "Reported for harassment. Do not message me again." Then I put him on ignore, which should be your next step.
Now, from here you can do a couple of things. Either:
1) Check their profile. If they have it set to "Show recent visitors," you can tell if a mod has stopped by. Or:
2) Leave the message undeleted for about 6-8 hours to make sure the mod sees it. They will not tell you if action was taken against the person reported.
When it doubt, try to keep your cool. It will get your report in faster, and will make you look like an adult in the process.

It's been much better since the forum format switched over. Having ignore and report functions in easy reach helps. My guess is that they are covering romance in BioWare's history as well as in games in general.
Now I need my next cup of coffee.

It wasn't always so, I had to leave back in 2012 because...it got very toxic, it's nowhere near what it was, people have learned I think...those that have been around for a long time tend to make a real effort of keeping everyone playing nice. My memories of it post ME3 are just...completely different. I just think the general populace outside have this imprinted on them, I'm so glad I came back though... I was very pleasantly surprised .
P.s. I was very active in the ME3 section of BSN then too.

I heard about that. Sometimes, reading archives from the old BSN are pretty cringe-worthy. It's amazing what the mods used to allow people to get away with. Thank goodness that's no longer the case.
