Long time no see guys...glad to see everythings so cordial. 

 

 

Of course Warder would be talking about killing Varric, somehow I am not surprised by this. 

 

 

So, small rant. I've been replaying through the Mass Effect series. I romanced Kaidan in ME1 which I've done before. I actually really like Kaidan, he's a good guy.

 

For ME2 I decided to go with Jacob who, again. I actually like. Always seemed like a bro and I've never romanced him before so why not ? 

 

So question......WHO THE HELL WROTE HIS CHARACTER FOR ME3 ?!?! WHY WAS I NOT WARNED ABOUT THIS ?!?! 

 

I mean, who actually thought having him cheat on you was a good idea. Who actually cleared that.....

 

 

so stupid.

 

Anyway, good to see everyone, rant over.

Aaahahahah I'm sorry, I shouldn't find this funny but yeah. Welcome to team 'slap that mofo and send him to his goddamn vents'.  It's the worst decision they've ever done for a companion. Best part? When he says they're going to name the baby after you. Really Jacob? Your new gf wants to name your baby after the woman you cheated on? Wtf is wrong with her? Who came up with that and thought it was a good idea? xD

Luckily I never went past one or two flirts with Jacob because he kinda bored me personally, dodged a bullet with that one. I love the ME series, but the romance options for my FemShep were pretty damn limited if I wanted her to be happy. *eyeroll*

At least you were semi prepared for his death (even though they dangled the rumor for a cure in front of you). The Jacob thing comes out of nowhere.

 

I suppose they made up for it by making Garrus the best romance ever! Kaidan's nice and all, but Garrus is space-Batman. You can't compete with that!

Yeah that Jacob thing should have only of happened if you didn't romance him, really glad that the way Shepard talked to him really put me off of wanting to try a romance with him since I usually try to try every romance once. At least you can smack him one in the Citadel DLC though I doubt that really satisfies  a lot of people burned by him. Though I am curious did his new girl even know about you and him? If not would have been better imo to give her a heads up on what she's dealing with after all he might take off on another woman while she spends a few days in the hospital after giving birth.

Meh, after Horizon I kinda figured that Shepard didn't owe him anything so I had no problem picking Garrus.

Jacob never even seemed the type to do such a thing either. He was so serious and straight-laced, when I found out it even happens in romance I was really surprised. What a kick in the face. Would have been fine if they just left it out for a romanced file! jeez.

It annoys me a bit that fanart keeps using Sparkles when the nickname is Sparkler. Maybe none of them have subtitles on.

I never use subtitles.  There are a few times where I don't quite catch what is said (usually the non-cinematic conversations, where the voices are too quiet) but otherwise I can hear them fine.

I have problems paying attention to what people are saying in movies/games because I get easily distracted by the visuals so I always keep subtitles on. It works much better for me that way. XD

I actually like Jacob. Then again I never romanced him so him cheating on Brynn with Shepard* never happened with me. As long as you don't romance him, he is a good guy.

So today, my friend and I was talking about Varric being the Garrus of the Dragon Age series. He's a big fan of Mass Effect and Garrus. He doesn't see how they are, but I can. They both are well loved by the fans. They both don't like drama, but always manages to be right in the middle of it. Their weapons causes for them to be able to shoot a target with a keen eye. They both are very down-to-earth kind of people. They keep their protagonist sane, and reminds them that every once in a while they can be cool and relax. The list goes on really, lol.

Yeah, they are both definitely the "bros", and there's nothing wrong with that. The chillax and nice demeanor, the humorous remarks and supportive nature. And you make a good point on hating drama but always being in the center of it. xD

 

The fact I didn't romance Garrus made them feel even more similar to me actually, being the companions I have an amazing platonic bond with and feel I can talk to about anything. I felt that way moreso for DA2 Varric, but it's still there a bit in DAI.

But Garrus loves drama. He always is happy when he says "Just like old times" referring to other drama he got in.

Yea I was trying to have Cadash be best buddy with a fellow dwarf, but Varric was all like "Back off, bro! You're a freaking messiah, and it's intimidating to think of you as a friend." My Cadash settled with Dorian and Cole anyway, but Varric will always be bro no matter what. He's my third favorite character in the series!
