I can't wait to see that reunion... if there is one. I'm hoping. 

That he gets down on one knee and tells his unyielding love for Hawk, and gives her/him the ring we gave him in DA2.

Did they not? I've never done it but it's my understanding that if you side with the Templars at the end Hawke stays in Kirkwall for awhile longer. Or am I mistaken?

Good morning people. I made it in time for page 600, yay!

 

I always headcanoned that they stayed in touch, at least for a while. I can't see Varric bailing on his best friend because of a tiny accident with the Chantry.

I don't see why he'd be upset. The epilogue said circumstances eventually made the companions leave Hawke, so I always imagined Varric got things to do on his own and then Hawke disappeared, which would be a cause for concern, not bitterness.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure he'll be happy to see any Hawke he wasn't rivals with. Even with the rival!Hawke he might be glad because they'll be a reminder of simpler times. (I can't believe I'm describing the events of DA2 as simple either, but I think it will be from his point of view. I'm getting the feeling DAI is gonna put him through the wringer.)

I think they just answered a few question about the demo. I don't think it was planned, seemed kind of improvised going by Cameron Lee's tweets.
