Hi guys,

I played the game being mostly nice (she was too cute...) to Merrill hoping she would change her ways after the keeper's death but instead she becomes worse and is in denial.

I then used a save game editor on a save prior to the New Path/Merrill Friend or Foe Quest and set Merrill's rivalry to -100 (Confirmed in character screen)

However, this does not seem to trigger the rival side of the Friend or Foe quest where she acknowledges that she was wrong all those years. (Checked probably close to 5 times saving and reloading confirming rivalry everytime through character screen and save game editor)

I really don't want to start from a save where I haven't maxed her friendship because that was a while back and I want to use this save to important into Dragon Age Inquisition.

I want to trigger the rival side of the quest but nothing else i've tried works (i.e. console commands removing Friendship talent etc)

Is the rival side quest triggered by not giving her the item to fix the eluvian? Starting again is not an option considering how much time i've put into it.

Anyone have any ideas? It would be great if this, so called, "Dragon Age Keep" turn's out to have extensive customisation options. At the same time however, I am worried thatin DAI, if Merrill has a cameo that she will be consorting with demons when I would like to have her change instead.

Any advice guys?

Thanks.

Well, since you don't want to go back on your saves, I do believe your only hope now is with the Dragon Age Keep, man. You see, when you hit 100 points, either with friendship or rivalry, the games lock itself on that status. I believe you can't change it because was never meant to after you reach 100, so it doesn't recognized it.

Yeah once it hits 100 points either way console commands won't effect it.  Can't switch at the last minute, if you really wanted to see the rival quest chain you need to go back to the quest where you get her that thing-a-ma-jig that helps her fix the mirror and refuse to give it to her.  But if all you really care about is how it will effect DAI then you need not worry to begin with, as DA Keep is the only way to import.  So just lie and tell it you did rival her, assuming it gives the option to.  If it doesn't, its not going to matter in the game.

Thanks for the responses! I hope DAI has an extensive list of options for the choices that matter. I'm assuming it comes out on launchday?

Rivaling Merrill is awesome. Rivalmancing her is glorious.

Tears will be shed, wailing and nashing of teeth will be done, and he response of her waifu fans is the best part of it all.
