I was refering to some of Sandal and Bodhan's random dialog in the Hawke estate.
Sandal: Can I have some salamanders, please?
Bodhan: Don't do it! That's where the boom comes from, I think.

I was very happy to find out she's back. I always really liked her, so i hope she has a large role.

I also really hope she's a (non race or gender gated) romance option, but that's about as likely as cheese on the moon.

I hope her personality remains relatively unchanged. As long as they pull a Merrill or Anders then I am fine.

Ooh I missed that one. In that case not Salamanders for Sandal and Dagna. Dagna and Solas on the other hand. Oh speaking of Dagna and companions, I'd love to see her get all excited over Cole it'd be adorable and, considering how badly Cole's been treated by some people, very heartwarming.

She 10 years older and has probably been through a lot, no matter which fate she ended up with. That said, people handle controversy in different ways. I can see her evolving into someone like say... Hanji Zoe from attack on titan. That chick's(?) a badass and usually really cheerful and enthusiastic about learning, but she can be very harsh when pissed off.

Wallace and Gromit managed to find some, there's hope for us yet :P

They also found a homicidal robot that was super into skiing though. Not to mention that cheese didnt really taste like cheese they had ever had before.

And then theres the whole chance of forgetting the crackers...

...

This has nothing to do with Dagna, I just really like Wallace and Gromit.

Well one could argue that Dagna and Wallace both share some similarities. Both are brilliant and inventive geniuses, and both are kind of oblivious to the world's more serious problems.

Speaking of... I wonder what Dagna's views on the mage templar war would be, or what she went through when the Ferelden circle rebelled a second time (I'm assuming that's a thing that happened). Did the Templar's choose to chase after her as a "mage sympathizer" or did they try to protect her as a non-magic bystander? We know Dagna seemed all for setting up a chantry-free circle in the epilogues, but the epilogues have been confirmed to be just rumors for the most part now. I wonder if Dagna will have some sort of agenda this game besides just "I love magic".

Well, now you just have me hoping the Inquisitions Keep will just be full of insane Rube Goldberg devices Dagna built in the hopes of making life easier.

I feel like she would be more inclined to side with the mages then anyone. But without knowing about what her time in the tower was like, its hard to say for sure.

Though I admit this Dagna talk has me wondering if the "Mage" referenced in Viviene Interview thing is actually referring to Dagna.

Something about "Explosive results" when they interact. I doubt it, but i really hope she has a sort of child-like Gomez Adams "I like making things explode" thing going on with her.

She's a dwarven smith who's into magic, of course she likes making things explode. As for weird machines all over the keep, I can totally picture her doing that if left to her own devices. She struck me as very high energy very eager to "help", if you're not giving her ways to use her awesome knowledge and skills, then she'll find some herself.

Unfortunately Dagna's probably not the one arguing with Vivienne :( it's probably either Morrigan or Solas. I don't think Dagna ever really considered herself a mage, just a student of magic. What little we know of her in Inquisition seems to back this up as she's referred to as "Artificer Dagna".

Well, that depends on what you consider a mage to be.

She cant use magic, no. But "Mage" could also just refer to someone who studies magic.

Anyway, im not really betting on that happening, it was just a thought i had.

Did you... change your icon since the Wallace and Grommit comment, or am I just that unobservant?

I think in the world of Dragon Age, where a lot of political issues revolve around mages and their rights, the term "mage' is probably rather specifically defined, and it probably doesn't include anyone who just studies magic.

I do wonder what Viv's reaction (if there's anything of the sort) to Dagna would actually be. On the one hand she's from the Fereldan circle, which is pretty much going to be grounds for automatic contempt from Vivienne's perspective, unless Dagna changes her style (Dagna makeover now that would be adorable, I'm sure Lelianna would be happy to give her one). On the other hand Viv's the Royal Enchanter, that's a pretty lofty title, even if it's mainly decorative. Dagna would probably be a huge fan, I bet you anything, and I don't think Viv would be quite able to be snooty at her when she's squeeing over how awesome she is. I'm sure even someone as awesome as Viv likes to have their ego stroked now and again.

Yes.

Yes i did.

Every once in a while someone reminds me how much i loved those, and i go into full fan mode.

Anyway, in regards to the mage thing. I more or less agree, and im not really going to hang my hat on the argument. I just think its within the realm of possibility to use "Mage" as a term for someone who studies magic. They say it in the epilogue anyway.

Isn't it the dwarves that call her a "mage"? They wouldn't use the same context as the Andrastians.

I think we might be jumping ahead of ourselves here assuming she'll be a romance option, it seems unlikely seeing as she isn't even part of the Inquisition (I believe). I think she'll be making a physical appearance but that's all.

Shhhhh... this is the Dagna thread. We're like the new Cullenites. Full of hopes and dreams, but with nary a shred of evidence to back up our wild guesses and wishful thinking.

That said, I don't think anyone really anticipates Dagna being an LI, but what we do know about her in Inquisition has given us some hope that she'll be a minor member and not just a one off appearance.

Has a dwarf ever called her "mage' in the game? I don't recall that happening, but Dragon Age is big, everyone misses something (it's also been awhile since I've seen her epilogue).

I guess with all the other terms for mages flying around, mage could be used as a catchall for anyone who studies magic. I wonder if the Templar collect phylacteries of non magical students of magic as well, seeing as how a supposedly inert tranquil mage managed to summon a demon the Chantry might just think it's safest to keep tabs on anyone with too much theoretical knowledge as well.

I remember only once did I actually go through thr trouble of completing her quest. Always felt like it'd amount to nothing in the end. Who knew I'd be wrong

Much more, who knew Dagna had fans! Next you'll tell me people want the Dark Wolf to come back

Well, that load screen paragraph thing reminds me very much of what you would see in Mass Effect 1 when you scanned a meteor and would find some writings or something. It would say stuff like "Tali and Engineer Adams dissembled blah blah blah..." Or the end of some missions in Mass Effect 2 where you'd get a summery of events.

I think she will at least be in the building in much the same way Bodan and Sandal will probably be there.

As far as a romance, its probably not going to happen, but im sure as hell more excited for that possibility then any other potential options for straight males lately.

Not that i want to get into that.

This is a happy place.

Is anyone assuming she's a romance option? I thought some people were just mentioning it offhandedly as a possible dwarves romance out of hope.

I love Dagna for her enthusiasm for knowledge and learning, and it would be a crime to "put her in her place in the smith caste". I'm glad she's going to have  a role in DAI and I'm looking forward to meeting her again. However, I would find it inappropriate to make her a romance option. Also, being an LI limits possible developmehts for the character involved, so I wouldn't want her to be one for that reason as well.

I think it would be neat if one could miss out on things in later games if one does not complete a quest or does not do so correctly, such as not taking Dagna to the circle. It would be neat if her skills are inferior if she didn't go to the circle, or she isn't an asset at all.

I like Dagna, but I wasn't aware she was a goddess.
